    Great video!
Have you ever tried the Crustacean Sensation or Lester's Tuna bloodline baits? I've been really curious about them and can't find a lot of info.

I haven't used either of those baits, but they are on my list to try sometime...

    I always liked Smelly Jelly.

This is a bit inaccurate because of the different style of traps. The ring traps don’t trap crab in, where the cages do.

In order to really know the results for sure I feel like this test would have to be done multiple times. I tend to think these results could be due to coincidence and trap locations. Just my thoughts.

    So good.
Putting my jealousy aside (as I've got to crab from shore or pier = no boat), I wonder if your day was one where the tide shift was pretty big? A few weeks back I hit Barview and then Garibaldi. I pulled a gorgeous keeper dungie on my first cast of my crab snare baited with razor clam, squid and chicken skin - surf & turf 🤣) but when I moved over to the pier at the end of the marina in Garibaldi to just soak my pot & rings I noticed that right around slack tide I got a lot of females each pull at the peak of slack tide? Maybe it was just that day?
I've personally tried Pro-Cure, Smelly Jelly (liquid & thick jelly), and Pautzke's Crab & Shrimp Fuel
If I am just using crab as bait, the Smelly Jelly liquid has been the big winner. Pautzke's did little to nothing for me, and Pro-Cure is good as long as you bring more to keep 'freshening it up'.
I love seeing Lester's ads on Craigslist and am hoping to try their bloodline tuna.
Was it hard to find McKay's? I haven't seen it around here in the Willamette Valley.
Whenever I am lucky enough to be at Netarts (and catching crab) I bring 5 gallons of that bay water home with me and boil the crab in that. Holy Smokes! It's hard to boil them any other way once you've had that pristine Netarts water (plus, with the leftover, you can make your own fancy sea salt for all your cooking endeavors!)
    Great day!
    Awesome video, as always!

Hey Rob, thanks for enjoying the video.
The tide swing was about 4-5 feet that day if I recall. One thing I did notice was the closer to high slack, the more keepers we caught that day. So as the tide starts to slow down, the males move farther up the bay or come out of the sand or rocks to go feed.
As for getting a bunch of female crabs, I think that's just the day...
For McKay's I found them at the Sportman Show in Portland in March, and got the attractant at the show.
BTW - I love boiling the crabs with netarts bay water!!!
Tight lines, hope to see you out there sometime!
