Love the sound of that big 645V16, smooth POWER. Cool greeting from the cab, "Shave and a haircut, two bits!" I sometimes wonder if a lot of youngsters know what "Two bits" means. 😊 Chessie's a gem.
It's cool to see locals on a short line as well as the big mainline trains and fun that Chessie was riding shotgun with you. Great video as always, JT 👍
The train driver took great pleasure in waving loudly with his horn! Unless it is to alert the road users as I read that this crossing was brand new...
I love to see the Sardinia wye - you can barely see any tracks but the trains are there! Great to see the short lines keeping the rails shiny. We've lost so many secondary lines in recent years that should still be in service, it's a shame. 🇨🇦
Well maintained ROW with upgraded crossing protection makes the CCET shine in the short line industry. Your videos do this railroad justice. We enjoy the family and pets included, makes for a homey atmosphere and great viewing.
Good to see CCET busy with the rock trains and the three grade crossing signals with multiple direction lenses. That intense ray of sun shining on the GP15 marks the end of a good RR day. Trusty Chessie loves those road trips!
I love trains and would love to live near RR tracks, but not near a RR crossing. The last thing I wanna hear at night is the sound of the train horn blaring, 100ft from where I sleep. Especially if those particular tracks have heavy train traffic and hearing the horns go off 25 or 30 times a day. Definitely a lot of sleepless nights there…
"Hooooooaah........ listen to the jingle, the rumble and the roar, Shes a combination of the Wabash Cannonball" Cmon Permafrost.....get wit da program man !!!!
I remember how good it was chasing pre-covid, so many locals and regionals running trains all the time, great power and friendly crews. Now, just isn't even close to as fun, all that's left is this kind of chasing. The regionals out in the country and a few spotty locals, everything is PSR garbage now & wide cabs. That's why I love watching your channel, you get a lot of great locals and regional stuff. 👍
I LOVED those first two locations out in the country, especially the first one with the cozy house. I guess the homeowners are used to the LOUD train horns going off day and maybe night, also, so close to their house. Interesting that the first country road had no gates but the second one did with the new gates and signals. Nice videos of your animals, especially of your dog in the truck. Thanks for sharing, JT!
Ah man, you owned 5 acres next to the track.... that's a keeper !! That would be interesting seeing that green engine run, 1011 it looks like, hard to tell. Cool Cool VID !! Woooooo 👍👍👍
Love the local action and especially love the JT double header today. Too bad the trailing unit isn't running as a DPU but that would be a waste on that short of a train. Another keeper, thanks,
Always like to see some shortline RR action. Wow chessie is the ultimate railfan companion, if I didn’t know better I’d think she’s one herself. Thanks JT. Take care.👍🏼
From the colors on the race care it looks like it belongs to the CCET Railroad. I wonder if the railroads colors inspired the paint scheme on the race car.
I love those short lines as well! In Pleasantville Ohio we have a short line railroad that runs through here. I don't catch it very often but I believe it is the Kanawha River railroad. I don't drive because of seizures but maybe someday someone will help me do some chasing.
Nice to see another CCET video and good that they're busy with the rock trains too. Also good to know you're still using acres to measure your farmland. We got converted to hectares when the UK was in the EEC which really annoyed our farming communities. Heck, an acre was so historic, the area of land ploughed in a day by the old English ploughman with one horse! How are your crops going this year? It's been a long time without any decent amount of rain here and it's going to be a poor harvest for most things unless we get rain soon. That's something Chessy and Norfie won't be worrying themselves about! Thanks for the quick look at CCET again.
Got lucky here too, Señor Jaws. Pension payday morning... was running late... rent, cable, grocery shopping. Got to El RobPalacio and your video was only recently posted. Watchin' vid with Burger King 2 x 1 Whopper Juniors, large onion rings, vanilla shake. $222 (pesos, about $11 bucks -- dollars US, not deer). Gracias por tu video. RT sends, Puebla, México.
Good video, mr Jaw Tooth. Hope that the locomotives of CCET ever will ride again. Hold the machines in condition CCET an d ride railcars to the costumers. Greet from Zandvoort the Netherlands.
I like the second crossing and the race car. No offense but I do not like e-bells. Mechanical bells are much better. Is it true that mechanical bells are expensive to maintain? Have a nice day 😊🌈
Great kewl video Brian the man Sheesh, you scared me at the end. I thought Pumpkinhead was coming out of the corn to take me head off. Really like this CE line a lot. Like the color scheme. But,Id give the other loco a NYC lightning stripe too and then outline the lightning stripes with thin white lines just like the NYC. Having Chessie tag along is way kewl, how great are dogs? Hey Brian,do you put up trains around the tree for Christmas?
Great catch of the late day run of the Cincinnati Eastern Railroad empty rock train on its way to Sardinia, Ohio. The engineer quit for the day and will take the train east to the quarry at Plum Run where the hopper cars will be loaded. Will the engineer be picking up loaded hopper cars of rock or will be return from Plum Run light?
Thanks again for your videos of the Cincinnati Eastern. I noticed 2 blue GE units at the Y. I only remember 3 units. One blue, one black and the green one. Did they purchase another GE unit?
Why is Norfie sleeping all day? From catting around all night. Our yard cat Sylvester, an abandoned cat who adopted us, does the same thing. He prowls around all night, comes for breakfast and follows me around the yard while I do my chores, then crashes until evening. That's a nice stand of corn; I assume that is on your farm.
Hey Jawtooth I saw that they took down the new signal heads at the east end of Sardinia last time I went thru to RT.32.They were going to install a Electro-code signal system but the Conrail deal killed it....shame.
AH THE OLD SHAVE AND A HAIRCUT 2 BITS salute 👏 that's a classic
It's great when the Engineer has a sense of humor and will be friendly and give you a shave and a haircut 2 bits. Thanks Jawtooth.

These days shave and a haircut cost 25 bits.
Lol unless you go to a barber college

Shave and a haircut, two bits horn solute. Awesome sauce

Thanks for watching John! Cornfields will make you itchy though so make sure you can wash off your skin afterwards
Love that short line. The sound of the B-36's is great too bad they have not been running them.
I will ask them next time if they re using them
Thoes engines are beautiful and very quiet except for the horns of course lol

Yes, he wants to make sure that he doesn't hit a car. He has been with the railroad here when they have hit cars and ppl
that train definitely has a good horn
