You won't see Ireland's population fall in the 1800s during the Potato Famine because it joined the United Kingdom in 1801 so it is counted with the UK until Irish independence in 1921.
So, it would be displayed under United Kingdom on this chart/animation.

@@juann1492 It was earlier just not 200 years, Eighty Years' War, (1568-1648), though independece was declared in 1581 and a new republic formed in 1588 , long before the war ended.

The USA's population in 1776 was only a few million. If this included all the colonies, it wouldn't have affected Great Britain's population much.
Apparently, overseas colonies weren't included.
But even the small parts of India would have been noticeable.

the us has always been insignificant in world affairs. They are just a bunch of disorganized cowboys roaming around with no real unity or form. they would never affect anything much. Honestly you could bomb their ships in their port and not suffer any real consequence.

Thats true but it was under Windisch-Graetz, Schwarzenberg was too young at that time. Also the Habsburg Monarchy transformed into the Austrian Empire in 1804 which is also not shown.
These figures don't include colonies or self governing territories, that's why US independence had no impact. Its also why Ireland disappeared in 1801, when it moved from effectively being a colony to a part of the UK. The famine saw Irelands population fall from 8 million to 6.5 million through deaths and migration, with population growing elsewhere in the UK its impact on these numbers is small. Ireland actually fell more in decades that followed to around 4 million for the whole island, much of the migration was to England, so again had no impact on these numbers.
The thing with France is that they never experienced the massive population boom its neighbors had with the advent of modern medicine and industrialization. Had they followed england's path or germany's path they would have stayed close to russia and be at around 150/200 million inhabitants today. Yes, its perfectly reasonable. France would end up having the same population density as the netherlands or germany. Paris would still be in the top 10 most populous cities tho.

The reason France did not experience a population boom stems from the fact that its fertility rate dropped very early in the 19th century due to early dechristianization. The French fertility rate in 1900 was only of 3 children/woman whereas it was still of 5 children/woman in Germany.

Indeed Great Britain only outgrew France economically in the late 18th century. For a weird reason many assume both countries were pretty even since the Middle Age but that's a totally distorted perception.

Why did Austria-Hungary form in 1849 in the graf? It really formed in 1867 after Austria lost Austro-Prussian war in 1866.

Unsure if you know this because you don’t really show it in the video but the fall of Swedish Empire wasn’t caused by Sweden, the anti swedish coalition ( Russia, poland lithuania, denmark norway, saxony, later prussia ) declared war on Sweden for multiple reasons, they saw Sweden growing stronger by the minute and they didn’t want their power to fade to the Swedes, Russia also wanted a warm water port since all their other ports are usually frozen all year long and that created the great northern war which lasted from 1700 to the 1720s with Sweden winning multiple battles and even defeating poland and denmark.
