- Blocked drain. Hidden manhole.
As usual before I accept a job I ask the customer if they are on a shared drain. If they are I advise them,
1. could be a blockage further down the line , basically on a nieghbours property.
2. if it is 1. then the utilities company need to attend.
This customer did not know. So it took a bit of digging around to find out what was going on but as you can see we got to the bottom of it.
Enjoy the video and say hello
Thanks for sharing your amazing videos with us all your a credit to us and the community love from Dublin
Thank you too!
It wasnt the sound of success baby! 😂
Nope 🪠
well these things are sent to try us, you give it a good go Tony
Yes mate
Don't think I'd buy a property with no inspection chambers. When I go for a walk I'm looking out for them in peoples driveways 😂 Obsessed!
Ha ha class that is
And if you'll have one on your property you'll be opening it on regular basis just the check on it. Tony even gave it a name a few videos ago: Drain Spotting 😂 I remember I couldn't stop laughing. It was that one with a very huge manhole, with a size of almost a septic tank ☺
Don't ya just crack up when ya see a stupid little good for nothin sink plunger in the gully at the start of the video 🤣🤣🤣
You spotted it lol.
The state of that benching.
So much of it missing (surely it didnt go into main sewer)
What will united utilities do that you couldn't. Its the same drain afterall. They'll just try to jet it from the same manhole like you did, won't they?
Or is there another one down stream in the road?
Ok heres the problem with shared drains, this house is at the bottom of 8 shared drains, I rodded into the 3rd house. Its not down to me to k ock on the 3rd house then maybe the 4th 5th and so on. The manhole was not blocked with gravel. The customer was asked if he was on a shared drain at enquiry stage, he said no. If he had said yes he would have been directed to UU. So there I am working in a non customers manhole, I asked if I could rod it and she said yes so we did and it did not clear. I understand what your saying but the blockage was too far away from my customers property for me to carry on.
I bet it is blocked with gravel.
Wrong
Inspection chambers, you don't need them till your really need them.
Did you charge the customer?
.
Im sure United Utilities will treat it as a priority and be on site in about 4 weeks time......for a initial assesment......job done by July if lucky😢
My experience of UU is often same day service, even though they are often pushed, they do respond pretty quickly here mate.
@@drain-unblocker fair doo's Tony, I live in Stockport and a few years back their was a series burst pipes and UU didnt cover themselves in glory, must have upped their game.🙂
@Nick_1072 saying that Nick its just my experience, could be different for others mate
👍👍👍
Bummer
If it were me, being that I was already there and charging a service call, I would have cleared it.
There is 8 houses on the run and this is the last house.
