For those that may not know. The 3125 is a SD45 and has been rebuilt to a SD40M-2..
Nice to see 2nd generation EMD 6-axles in a version of the NKP paint scheme.
MAN those are some sharp looking units. Especially that 3125 with the SD45 body. Thought they ran faster than that though.
Yes the track is good for 25, not sure why they were going slower.
@@ScottTaipaleRail So you could take those shots!
Very nice video thank you Scott great to see these old EMD in action especially sd45 car body
Thank you!
I love the bells at the last crossing.
Great work as usual Scott !!
Looks like a good operation over there. Cool!
They’re a class act shortline
Nice video, nicely painted units, and the track / ballast is in great shape. You don't see that on many shortlines.
Thank you! This is a family owned railroad with pride in their operation!
You always do such nice work with that drone! Good looking paint job ...
Thank you!! Some days I do better than others.
Good show...drones are perfect for this work I should get one I think I will.
Thank you! Drones can get to some really inaccessible spots!
Awesome video Scott!
Great video Scott!!!
Your welcome!!!
Thank you
Awesome catch. Cool video
Thank you very much!
Super video!
Will we possibly be seeing some more of you two? I like to see the people who make the vids.
Yes. Maybe we’ll even talk to the camera eventually!
COOL
Awesome Job on the video Scott!
Thank you!!
They do look good with new paint. However, few railroads will keep them clean and nice except Corman's line.
IN or Indiana Northeastern will keep them clean very clean that is!
Yes I was surprised there was dust on them but I suppose loading grain is a dusty operation
That first unit looks like a former Southern Pacific sd45r.
Is the 'little guy' gonna be a railfanner too? lol
Yes he sure is. He loves steam engines particularly and has one of my old cameras with a tripod to film with.
@ 3:58 the water on the bottom half looks oily lol
Probably is
You don't see many 6 axle units on a short line. In. Northeastern has come a long way...
Awesome catch, Scott. Very nice lighting. Was it sunrise or sunset! Very cool. - Drew
Thank you Drew. Filmed between 10-noon but early January low sun angle is always favorable
Ahh. Good tip...thanks. And you're welcome, Scott.
The tracks and ballast seem to be in great shape on this line but trains seem to never exceed 25 mph?
Maybe they have to upgrade crossing protection for speed increases
Tell the young man we waved back.
I will
Anybody know why there is steam coming off those tank cars? (Thumbs up)
Hot metal
My guess is that the cargo is thick, so they have to use steam to heat it up so it can flow better. Some tank cars have an integral steam heating pipes in the shell.
Thank you. The cargo is tar/asphalt so it’s hot and this was filmed on a cold January day.
nice shortline railroad, but I am not sure who owns the railroad, for sure not G&W.
And not for sale thankfully! Keep that orange away!
is that an old nkp locomotive
Nope, just a NKP inspired livery
@@ScottTaipaleRail ok:)
