      Are you saying the ‘quality’ of the Seal!!! (Not dolphin) is better than Tesla? Sorry but the leather really is not, the Tesla is much nicer.
      Then you also have the efficiency factor, Tesla so much more efficient from a cost perspective in terms of km p/kw.
      Then you also have the charging, the charging takes much much longer in the seal than the Tesla, plus you won’t have access to the super network.
      Don’t even want to talk about the safety features…. The autopilot, excuse the French, shits all over the byd version. BYD have even admitted that they need to improve this.
      Should Tesla be worried? I don’t think so, competition is a good thing. A rising tide lifts all ships, are they the best? For now, absolutely.

      @@honesty_-no9he I am somebody who loves justice and hates unfairness. The CEO of BYD openly anounced that they want to crush the traditional manufacturers and they can do that because they are heavily subsidized by the CCP. BYD basically declared war on the western manufacturers threatening the wealth and the economy of western countries. Therefore everybody who is not Chinese should stay clear of BYD because buying one means hurting your own country. If you buy a BYD you basically betray your own country for lackluster quality. The mission of Tesla is to accelerate the shift to renewable energy. BYDs mission is to destroy the others. Do you see the difference?

      @@TechInTheCar The Australian government scrapped import tariffs for EV's on the 18th June 22 regardless of country of origin, also 10% GST v 20% VAT. The UK doesn't get the base model at all - their base model is what we call the premium.
      The premium is $59k AUD inc10% GST, in the UK Import duty and VAT would make this $71k like for like = £38k, the UK price for this model is £45k a small part of the difference is extra shipping costs.
      Australia also has a direct sales model with online ordering similar to Tesla, I believe BYD in the UK and Europe uses a dealer network model so there are dealer margins to factor in as well.

    • @Nickbaldeagle02

      There's something wrong alright. See, Australia has an actual trade deal with China for a start. Australia sells rare earth metals to China which makes it a lot of money. Also shipping costs are way less because of Australia's proximity to China.
      The UK is trading on different terms and makes its money with taxation.
      That's a very simplified assessment but you get my drift.

    I often wonder about these reviews and are they are paid endorsements? I recently compared the BYD Seal and the latest version of the Model 3. The M3 has a much larger trunk and frunk space. The BYD Seal has hardly any autopilot features. By the way, autopilot is meant to enhance safety, not to let you watch Netflix while driving. The 360 cam is pretty useless and distorted. And the sales say it only works at low car speed. So I still need to use the side mirror. The BYD Seal is more expensive than the M3. It also has a lower charging rate of 150 kWh, while the M3 can charge at 250 kWh. The M3 has a longer track record of battery performance and reliability. The BYD Seal uses a new battery technology, but its long-term effects are unknown. Moreover, the reviews don't mention anything about the charging network. It doesn't matter how good your EV is, if you can't charge it, it's just a brick.

    • @TechInTheCar
      @TechInTheCar  10 месяцев назад

      It is not paid. I’d be happy if someone would pay me! 😂 Part of the reason why different cars sell is personal preference. I think the new battery technology inside the BYD Seals is great. The handling and performance is better. Tesla do have a better charging network I agree but I didn’t talk about charging in this video just about the tech and performance. As for the driver assistance - I find Autopilot in the U.K. to be finicky and it disengages if you touch the wheel. I’m not a fan of the implementation although it is very very good. As for the 360 camera - it is normal to only work at low speeds as it’s meant for manoeuvring.
