My family immigrated here.. quickly assimilated and got to work. Didn't cause problems. Didn't try to change the country they were moving to negatively. They just.. lived. It seems so easy, I'm not sure what the fuck is wrong with a lot of the people we're letting in these days.

Been a liberal my whole life (sorry to everyone for whom my vote has seen them suffer through this government) Never again. I use to be a Canadian. Now, I don't know what I am. I'm white, come from 3 generations of settlers from Ireland, Scotland and France. And all I find myself doing is hanging my head low being shamed for my nostalgia of all of the things we use to proudly stand up and celebrate. Christmas, Easter, Canada Day, friendly smiles and freedom of speech. My children will never own a home and my retirement will likely never happen.

I agree with you 100%. I am an immigrant. I was a kid when I came here but my parents were very shall I say strict to only speak english so we could adapt quickly to the Canadian culture. My family did their best to fit in. We didn't try to bring our cultures to Canada nor did we try to impose our culture onto Canadians. This multiculturism should be abolished. Bring back the Canadian way. I'd like to wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Easter. Bring back the National Anthem to schools. Let parents feed their children. Stop the woke agenda being forced on our kids, etc. etc. Time for a center right wing government to bring a sense of normalcy to this great land of ours once more. Shame onto the Liberals and the NDP for what they have done. I will stop here now but Pierre Poilievre can count on my vote. I am a proud Canadian and I proud of it.

My parents came here from Italy in 1956 for a better life…. and they found it, and they knew it! They intergrated, learned how to speak, read and write the language over the years. They had become proud Canadian citizens 25 years later. They are no longer with us as of 2016 when mom passed away leaving my brother and I as orphans. All I can say is this. It’s a good thing they did not have to experience what Canada has become… because this would have broken their hearts. Canada has become a dogs breakfast so to speak, we’re in a hell of a mess, and I for one am not sure if we will ever fully recover… thanks Liberal party of Canada!

My parents are German and came to Canada in the 50’s as well. My friends consisted of Italian, French, polish, Jewish, Greek, Yugoslavian…

In court on April 02nd 2024 the Canadian government still claimed it was not responsible for the harm suffered by the Metis and Non Status people in the Sixties Scoop.
