Really good looking DJ homage, probably one of my favorites of them, specifically because of the thinness and the bezel. One point of advice I'd give to the brand if they read the comments, please offer a Miyota 9000 option. I am not a fan of the 2824 or any of its clones, its an inherently unreliable movement due to some winding issues, and I've gotten to the point having had so many issues with them myself that its almost always an instant pass for me. The Miyota is thinner than any Seiko movement, 4hz, accurate and very reliable. I do however like the octopus name. Its one of my favorite animals, they're incredibly intelligent and real chameleons of the sea. Its also a good name for a diver, which I expect is why they chose it. Awesome review, as always. I'll say it again, you are the best reviewer out there by a mile.
@@Nefville interesting point! Thankfully haven’t had too many bad issues with the 2824 but I know how the winding mechanism can basically ruin the watch. I do like the miyota but maybe not as easy to come by…. Or at the very least would make the watch more expensive. And true octopus works perfectly for divers but sometimes we need to adjust 😂 As always appreciate the kind words. I try. Thank you for the consistent thoughtful comments and support 🙏🏻
I like the way you spend as much time and effort reviewing an inexpensive watch as a luxury one. This is very good homage to older Datejusts, unfortunately another reviewer had trouble with one of the screws, so the bracelet does seem the weak link.
@@dunderhay9169 interesting! I guess it can’t always be perfect quality, at the very least hopefully you can size links around the defective screw. And as an edit, thank you I appreciate that other people appreciate that aspect. Always considering making more condensed content. Maybe I’ll start a separate section where I do quicker hit sized reviews as well. We’ll see!
Dude. Exactly. The video is so serious, but the name of the watch - forget it. I would love an alternative with everything the same except a different name.
Really, really good review! I used to think engine turned bezels were dated and kind of cheap looking, but enough time has passed that I now think there is a nostalgic beauty to them! I really like this example. Great watch for the money.
@@matthewdavis8199 always had a somewhat fondness for the bezel. So visually unique from anything made now. Appreciate you watching as always Matthew 🙏🏻
Great review, crazy that the tolerances are so tight that the bracelet won’t come off haha, though I suspect most buyers will keep it on the bracelet anyways
Thats a great review and a great watch indeed. One thing, if I would to nitpick - I wish text / printing color would be just a hair off-white, maybe egg-white to match the lume color better.
@@gcardinal pretty good point and something I’ve never really thought of. If the lume can’t be as white was the text… make the text more lume colored. Or maybe even make the text lumed.
@@morgan.enfield true more similar to air kings and OP variants. Mentioned more because modern Rolex doesn’t have any version of that bezel so that’s the most direct equivalent
Sir, you did a review of an Anordain watch with a beautiful blue dial and brown/gold skeletonized numerals and batons awhile back. I've checked their website and it seems that model is no longer available. Would you be willing to part with that one if you still have it? I just have not found anything quite like it anywhere else.
It's not a DJ homage. It's an Air King homage ref nr 14010, with a so-called engine turned bezel. Btw the hands are too short, cannot unsee this, an unfortunate pass because it's a beautiful watch.

I can confirm winding and rough movement issues with SW200-1 and I only own one watch with this movement 😃.

Epic looking piece and love the dimensions but man that name

Nice watch. I like the bezel. Great review Sr. The bezel seems to be less shinny than the other homages of the watch.

Unfortunately I’ve sold that one a while back. Lovely watch but can’t keep them all!
These guys always do a great job with these homage watches. The text on the dial looks good. But why "Octopus Kraken"?
Why is the question. I don’t know if anyone knows!
