You haven't seen nothing yet. They implemented this Tasks Database feature that makes it much worse. Luckily it's opt-in

Even after doing this the new column didn't show up for me but then I switched the group-by to Assign and then back to Status and the new column showed up

Yes, unfortunately that's a bug with Notion
