Thanks, Dave for sharing this walk with us. My brother and I love West Wittering, it's our favourite place to visit when we fancy a day at the seaside. We normally paddle in the sea from West Wittering to East Wittering, treat ourselves to an ice cream and then wade back. Then its boots on and walk round East Head. Then trainers on for an evening stroll along the beach. Usually around 9 miles in total. Did you know that Sir Henry Royce lived in West Wittering for a while? I believe the house he lived in is still there, with a blue plaque in the wall. Those Pet Services at the Church looked interesting. I expect the vicar is pleased to have some of his audience wearing dog collars as well as himself! 😁
Great to see you back in my old home county, Dave, and thank you for a very interesting walk. I'm surprised that, even in October, there weren't more people around. It's lovely, however, to have so much beach to oneself. I'm looking forward to the next video!
One of my favourite walks and areas ever. I have been hankering to return to East Head for some months now! It is best to go out of season as it is just too busy in summer or in nice weather. I love Sheepwash lane too but seem to remember there is a tricky bit on the network of footpaths leading to it where you can end up on the wrong side of a drainage ditch! Loved the zoomies it is the perfect location for them!! Ellanore Lane leading back to West Wittering from harbourside is a nice short cut for a shorter walk and to the very good cafe at West Wittering!! Good luck on the run!!
What a delightful video ! The empty beach looks fantastic. Whippet Zoomies are always a highlight for me. Looking forward to following you and Logan on your adventures throughout 2024.
Thank you Kath. Yes, we were lucky to have so much of that beach to ourselves -Iberlieve it can get a lot more croweded in the Summer! Thanks for watching.
What a lovely walk Dave. From the houses to the churches it all looked beautiful. The views and scenery is gorgeous. It must have been so pretty in person. Just so wonderful. Logan so good to see you too. Thanks Dave for another amazing walk on a cold day here in USA☀️
It’s been an awful long while since I was in that area and I’d forgotten just how expansive the beach is at West Wittering. I know it’s a summertime favourite with some of my nieces and their friends.
Hey! I just wanted to say a quick thank you for your great videos! They are always a little holiday for me. Keep up the good work! Greetings from Germany :D
Thanks for all your amazing videos this year Dave and Logey, they are always so lovely to watch. We were watching the old Miss Marple series over Christmas, 4:50 from Paddington and read that Nether Wallop in Hampshire was the location of Miss Marple’s house. Have you done a walk there, we would love to see that place. All the best for 2024, hope it’s another happy year full of adventures.
Thanks for the recommendation Carlton. I am in the middle of preparing my walks for 2024 so I will certainly look at that area. Best wishes for the New Year and thanks for watching.
West Wittering used to be our families go to beach. Dad drove his motorcycle and sidecar from Bosham for a day on the beach. Happy times. Shame local people have been priced out of the area due in part second home ownership.
It is a great beach for families for sure. I know what you mean about the "second home" situation there - sadly you see it so often in places like West Wittering now.
We lived in Bracklesham in the 90s and these places were our haunts, lovely boat ride in itchinor....i also had a whippet the same colour and she lived for 17 years but like a few of my rescues had cancer...she had a long pedigree which i still have but the reason we had her when i was 13years old was that she lived near a farm and she would run out, round up her friends and take them across the farmers field. He said if she did it again he would shoot her, so we gave her a home..
Sadly like Bosham opposite, West Wittering is what I call a dead village. Out of season nearly all the old workman’s cottages near the water are empty. Mainly owed by rich Londoners for occasional visits. Same issue in Devon and Cornwall
I've been lurking for a long time on your content. I just wanted to say thank you. I love watching right after work and it helps me relax at night.
Thank you Olivia. Thanks for watching & I hope that you enjoy the future videos in the series.
Wonderful walking tour through the village and with amazing views of the beach
Thank you Keith. Best wishes in 2024 to you. :)

Thank you for sharing your lovely memories of the area Antonio. Logan has never been to a Pet Service - it would be interesting to go one day.
@@DaveFord You should take him, it's lovely. We went to one in October; very special

Thanks Jim. Yes, I was surprised at how much of the beach we had to ourselves .... Logan wasn't complaining though!
Lovely Dave! Thank you for sharing your walk and all the history, we learned so much.
This walk (or some of it 😃) is now on my list 🥰
Thanks Lyn. Ky will love it!

A glorious day for a late season walk, Mr Logan. Keep training up yer mate Dave for his next big run with that little feller Fiver!

What a lovely area to have lived in. 17 ... goodness that is a good age for a Whippet - great that you have her a good home. Thanks for watching.

@@DaveFord Keeup the great videos coming Dave and Logan 👍
Same just about anywhere half decent. The village of Elie in Fife, near where I live, has now a majority of second homes.
@@markshrimpton3138 Yep so sad. It kills local communities 🙁
