In this AppSheet tutorial, you'll learn how to create a custom menu that dynamically adjusts based on user roles and gravity scores. By using the LOOKUP function and leveraging Gravity (a weighted number for roles and menu items), you can control which menu options appear for users with different access levels.
I'll demonstrate how to implement the formula, allowing users to see specific menu items based on their gravity score. This technique is perfect for customizing app navigation according to user roles, making it highly effective for role-based app experiences.

Thank you so much! I've bee struggling to make this role-based custom menu forever! One comment, could the gravity column in the user table just be the virtual instead of physical one?
The struggle is over for you! I am glad it's beneficial for you. Anyways, if there's a need for it to be virtual column I don't see the issue, however it may impact on your app performance eventually since virtual column computes most of the time if not all the time. Either way it can still work
@@aris_azhar I see! I neglected the point that virtual column computes all the time! thanks!
@@ChawinSrabour all is well brother..all is well. Exciting days ahead!
Thanks a lot ❤
You're welcome 😊 and thanks for being an awesome member! Appreciate your support brother
This is cool.
I used to see a person to show a permission matrix, which includes roles, views, actions, ... and something more i don't remember.
I think that's for their commercial purpose so that we don't see sharing around.
I'm glad you find it cool and hopefully useful.
I understand as to why this may be not a common knowledge but then again, my objective is purely to give back to the world on what i know. it's always nice to know at the end of the day people are doing amazing things with what they extract from my content. I personally would want to thank you for supporting me ;)
Thanks for your video, it's very good and useful. Hope you have more good videos.
Thank you for supporting me! it means a lot!
More videos to come..hundreds to go at least ;)
@@aris_azhar Thanks for your reply. Can you guide the login function with usersetting so that your appsheet series is richer and more complete?
