    Utterly irrelevant colours as options is one of the things I've kind of gotten used to. A minor nuisance compared to the bait and dwitch ads showing something in the photo for a very good price, and then as one clicks the options it turns out that the low price is for an adapter, short USB cable, keyring chain, or similar while the item shown is significantly more. And of course the ones thst compensate a low price with the shipping cost, so the listing looks more attractive.
    I guess they're just reusing some list of options, instead of typing in dome actual descriptive options.

      this practice always guaranteed the Aliexpress experience would be an unusable chaos and complete waste of time. The problem is that all those sellers have figured out how to do the same thing on eBay and now that's a complete mess as well...

      @@GannDolph i wouldn't call it a _complete_ waste of time (as I do but a fair amount of stuff there), but it sure makes it take more effort than would be needed if it was all clear/open/honest...

      @@michaeltempsch5282 that's fair i suppose. but in the last year , and very surprisingly , i've increasingly purchased things for cheaper thru amazon. the items still ship from china and are usually from the same sellers as on aliexpress. amazon will eat the loss when things don't arrive (hasn't happened, in fact things seem to come faster, more reliably and with better tracking). So amazon is clearly up to something here (in USA) --but i like it..

    Type 2 generally lock into place on one side typically the top, the other "ports" are just to allow flexability of the final installation, the servo drive is a bulky item that the end user (manufacturer) would fit themselves, I would say that is more a replacement part where you would just fit your existing servo, functianally it is not needed as you say its just to prevent cable theft.

  • @ericblenner-hassett3945
    @ericblenner-hassett3945 Год назад

    If you have a decent metal vice, those terminals for the socket can be soldered. I recommend not pre tinning the leads, only flux prior to putting the large connectors in and using a plumber's technique of wicking the solder in. It can work and be safe if you can get enough bare wire into them ( bottom of the pin ) prior to the soldering. As to crimping, you may be able to use a pin punch if the pins can come out of the socket.

    There is an exploded view on the microphone sales page, why bother opening it? It shows there it has a 60mAh battery in it. But good promotion, I went and bought one too. The right 'color' as I need USB C.
    Did you ever come across a buck converter which accepts over 100 Volt DC? Or 200? Not that i need them, but they could be used on my solar panels, for in case the grid goes down. I have 3 arrays, ranging from 120 to 230 Volt DC. (in MPPT mode that is, so without load it would be a fifth higher).

    • @JulianIlett
