At first I was like what the hell a road tractor but after I watch this video and saw all the work and unique craftsmanship that went into it, it's pretty amazing, a beautiful piece of art;)
"...That's not steampunk, that's Dieselpunk!... this guy's an eediot! ..durrr" .. do you guy's not know what the term "inspired" means? Also, can't you just look at something and be impressed with the craftsmanship without dissing on the most inane things about it? This is an awesome build man and I can't wait to see an update with the body installed (though when you do, I hope you decide to add some custom leather seats over the top of the wood slat ones... because at the moment, OUCH!)
how much horsepower does it make? and by the way just so you know ,I think that you did an awesome job!!!!you have done a superb job on the whole car!!!!! your COMPLETELY excellent craftsman and excellent on this is just superb it's just completely superb and it looks great and I can't wait to see the finished product but I just wanted to say it's also men for what you have already done and looks and you have great workmanship skills to have done all this!!! sounds great, And you know the car! its ins and outs, like I said you know and you said you know there's nothing really wrong that you can't fix, like when you stopped on the side of the road its just minor things, and other than that it all pretty much ready to go!!!!!!!!! congratulations and I hope that it's finish SOON!!!!!!................And my best to you Sir And I believe that you will be smoothly moving along with it in NO TIME At ALL!!!!
he has based it on something that already has a V5. that 1924 frame he used may well have an old style registration certificate. google "sva radically altered vehicles" it scores 9 points from what i can see, as it looks like he has used the original chassis, axles, and steering of the original 1924 car, thus he can retain the original 1924 vehicle registration number, along with the tax and mot exemption as it is old enough. i suspect once the vehicle is complete that vastly overstressed back axle will be changed for a unit more able to handle the output of that v8, as that diff will self destruct as soon as that supercharger makes any boost...
Love it!! as good as those guys from Sin City Motors make!, the only thing I don't understand is that it's in the UK, I thought you wouldn't be allowed anything like that due to our OTT safety precautions, ie, having wheel fenders/ mudguards over each wheel, a proper pedestrian friendly bumper on the front, a roll cage etc etc...
Personally for the safety of others I would prefer these concoctions to be subject to a DVLA vehicle build inspector like kit car builders have to pass to prove its safe to use . The vehicle doesn't comply to many regulations for the road as it is , and it's being driven at speeds much higher than walking pace .
Keeping a 1924 car on the road is hard and when I got the chassis it had had a very different body put on it, however the chassis suspension and axles are original and the body that is going on it is very close to the original . as for it being fast, that is a big engine but it ain't fast because it is old. On the road I stick to about 30 max (it hasn't got seat belts, I'm not mad) and if i go a long way it will go on my transporter. Driving any old car will never be as safe as a modern car but you have to be sensible and realize there limitations. This car is not a daily driver and when finished will be very much a trailered show car. PS Don't believe everything you see on you tube.
paul bacon ...Paul where did you get the Ardun heads for your engine? Those babies are becoming very rare. I'm a curious old bottle-fed from Georgia U.S.A.
+Maindrian Pace I don't know it that spark plug configuration was unique to the Ardun heads. The distributor position indicates that it's not a Ford flathead block. Being in Great Britain, I would guess he used a Rover V8 and made some custom valve covers.
This is dieselpunk, the internal combustion engine is a dead give away. If he wanted to make a steampunk car he should have an external combustion engine.
0:55 Nice drawing, but WHY OH WHY make it so rough, curve the back so much and in the same time bend the cabine in front ? It's ABSOLUTELY STUPID and it looks STUPID. Also, why not mount a hood ? Beside the fact it looks HIDEOUS and NEVER finished (like a person with mutilated, razored face or burned to the flesh and bone) all the rain falls on the engine (and such a monstruous and hot engine doesn't cope well with termic shock) all the mizery covers it,open for anybody to damage anything and , again , looks hideous and stupid, just like the benzine tank (or whatever) on it's back and front.
I LOVE IT!!!! A TOTALLY AWESOME BUILD!!!! THANKS FOR SHARING. PLEASE KEEP US UPDATED.
Great to see this old blast from the past today Paul Beacon.
"Go right back to horse drawn carriage and leaf springs"
Well leaf springs are cutting edge here in the US
Lol. now that's a funny comment

A good idea for the comment, but spelling mistakes make me cringe
Very cool car. Don't forget to give us an update later.
Bryant Ford the finish product is on Snapchat it looks crazy Ridiculous Rides
So is this finished now? Would love to see the final result, which I'm sure is nothing less than astonishing.
i love this channel, finally a youtube channel with decent interesting car videos!
Best of luck, Paul! I'm looking forward to seeing more as you progress ...
Love it........well done bro. Ill be looking for the finished video :-)
Can't wait to see the finished product!
Incredible build!
that is art right there
as far as i am concerned its mainly finished don't put a body on it all the mechanical's being able to be seen and working is brilliant
Brilliant engineering, Brilliant machine!👍👌👌...
Going to stop doing my vintage Austin 7 s, This is the way i should go
Great "bit" (lot) of work Well done,
freaking AMAZING

❤️
Splendid work.
Im actually cooking bacon right now... now im done... now im eating
Wow, amazing
By the way, that shifter made from a hand drill are actually still made today. Very popular with finish carpenter's that like using hand tools
Impressive work
3:15 - Yup. That's about what my reaction would be.
what a beast
Impey Barbicane in the flesh (the one from Code: Realize). Awesome.
This man should move to the west coast he would clean up.
Love it. I need one 😎
Was there ever a follow up with this car finished??

We boys and our toys.
how does he get it road legal?.. does it not have to have a sva test?

Pure fun
love it,, wee man too
hey , i love the car & your ladies purple hair
Nice design were are the airbags? No hatred thought. Be safe and hope you have new videos. Stay awesome

best compliments...
cool car, i would have put slightly thicker tyres on the front, as i think there a bit to skinny for that v8 power, it must be scary
OUT OF CONTROL
What is it doing on a public road?
He's like an English Ed Roth.
Jesus idk if I'd be throwing Sparks at my gas tank like that
impressive! but why build a car from scatch with the steering wheel on the left in britain?
+EspenJ Well, it looks like he's going for a Model A look which is from the States.
I wouldn't call him eccentric, but intelligent and free to create what HE wants. Compare against a worker in a factory.
Biggest street legal tires her in Texas is around 54" military tires. This car is pretty cool but must be UK.
I have a lot to learn about these old motors /hot rods ....where the hell the is radiator
but will it stance and fit in with the cool kids of the modern jdm fest era?
i wanted to go back to the days of the horse drawn carriage....thats why he didnt use a horse or a carriage and used a motor... makes sense
A very cool car lol
Wheres the final results video... ;) =)
An interesting use of a pre 60 chassis to build something mot exempt that would otherwise NEVER be allowed on the road.

Looks cool. Apart from the back wheels. They look like shit
He's on about the metal being laser cut not the wood
+christian kiviniemi the whole concept is simular to a full diaper
Just needs a little steam shooting out of the sides!
Technically dieslepunk since it runs on gas, but it does have more of a steampunk look though.
SUGGESTION: HOT ROD MAGAZINE.
custom made laser cut seats ?? they look more like scrap from the junk yard
The sides of the seat not the wood
Is that a real Ardun flattie?
+Maindrian Pace
I was thinking the same thing.

Hey, what motor and transmission?
Yeah I'm interested to know more then 'supercharged V8'. It seems he really didn't know a lot about the mechanical parts of the car.

muito bom...
almost looks perfect with no body.
i wanna buy the car as it is now
Euro NCAP rating: 5 Stars...
HA my last name is bacon too! I live in the state but family came from England in 1605

cool as fuck
This is dieselpunk, the internal combustion engine is a dead give away. If he wanted to make a steampunk car he should have an external combustion engine.
So what do you call steampunk - with ZILCH steam ??
+Raymond Ashby Diesel Punk
basically he's built a gasser
I personally think it is a waste to not use live steam.
....Should rename it....."Meccano" it looks like a Meccano pieces on it.....lol.
You have goggles- use them.
how abt a 32 ford body
take a look at the steampunk boatcar at boatcar.rocks
i guess im late to post "first comment" Awe to bad... then i wont post anything! xD
Weight savings bro

First Comment
but why?
What a waste of an Ardun Flathead..$50,000.00 vintage motor on a garden tractor..
FIRIST
Sorry Mate..... Take it from this Yank.. It's NOT STEAMPUNK at all
