Vintage Westinghouse 16" Oscillating Table Fan

Westinghouse Catalog # 16-B-3 16" Oscillating Standard Table Fan. This is a very basic machine with a shaded pole motor and a resistor based speed control.

You are lucky that your Westinghouse fans oscillate. Most of mine bind up because the screw tightens. Also I have the 12" version of this fan and it also doesn't have the power to start up. I don't know what is causing this. I wanted to remove the gears but I can't seem to get them out.

This one doesn't actually belong to me, it's a friend's fan. He managed to completely disassemble the whole fan.
