thanks for your fantastic channel, Severalyears since I went to Ireland, The first time I was based in Galway and moved by bus. it was pure magic. then I travelled through the country by car with some friends. So I had decided to learn Irish,: I could buy a book for that, but i could not obtain the audio cassette (really several years ago) and I abandoned the project. Your channel has been tempting me to try again
Maith thu agus comhghairdeas! Glad to see you hung out a bit at the Culturlann -- when I have visited I spent as much time there as I could listening to people speaking Irish (and speaking the bit/s that I could) -- they, of all people, should have your book, though :) I've been told Belfast has the largest number and most committed Irish speakers outside the Gaeltachtaí -- there (and Derry) is where my heart is 💚
Is breá liom Béal Feirste. Tá na daoine an-chairdiúil. Stáisiún nua, 'Grand Central', dochreidte ! Is breá liom, Sliabh Dúbh, St. James' Community Farm, Bog Meadows Nature Reserve, etc. etc.
It’s important to recognise, important as it is, that so many parts of Belfast are outright hostile to the Irish language and culture, near where I’m from there are regularly bomb and death threats against our local GAA club and a proposed Irish language school, some people just are filled with hate.
Lovely! Belfast a more IRISH city in many ways? Maddens pub - 1st language Irish - no pub Galway Irish mainly. My Irish is fairly stale - thanks for the subtitles but they are really faint. TG4 does excellent, east readable subtitling.
Ní maith liom Man. Utd. , ach bhí nádúr ag glaoch orm, nuar a bhí mé ag siúl timpeall Bóthar na bhFál. Mar sin, Chuaigh mé isteach, 'An Diabhal Dearg'. Quelle Surprise, mar a deirfá. Bhí Sing-Song ar siúl; Rí-rá agus ruaille buaille !
There is a delay in the subtitles at around 7 minutes in, I'm fixing it 🙏 tá brón orm🥲
Tá mé i mo chónaí leath bealaigh idir An Droichead agus Croí Dubh. In aice leis an Errigle Inn. Fáilte go Béal Feirste arís! ❤❤
