- India's extended lockdown has caused air pollution levels to drastically decrease, turning the New Delhi skies a clearer blue.
The lockdown that saw India's 1.3 billion population staying indoors has allowed particulate matter in the air to settle.
On the very first day of the lockdown announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the average PM 2.5 levels in the air decreased by 22%.
The lowered air pollution is rare for India, home to six of the world's 10 most polluted cities in 2019.

Everything happens for a reason.. This is one of the positives side of coronavirus
Nayem Russell Exactly! The world will become better because of this. Maybe not economies but definitely the world
@@Kdubzlovescars yeah, rich will get much richer and those scummy little poor bastards will die, luv it. can we be blood brothers?, you sound just my type!!
The road ahead seems clear to me!
I have lived within my means most of my live, especially after my 30's. I am 65 now, and my life has changed very little over the last 3 months of pandemic. The biggest change for me has been the lack of mobility and the need to use a useless mask. I make my own bread, cook most of my meals, work at home, and live frugally as I have for the last 3 decades. My girlfriend is 40 years old and everybody believes I'm in my 50's. I still surf as often as I can, and drink beer when I please. I have lived near the beach most of my live and I love every minute of it.
My biggest wish is for everyone to learn to live at peace with themselves, at home, where ever they like to live, and stop flying, driving, shopping, and consuming our resources as if there was no tomorrow, as if their life's had no meaning unless they're spending money, as if they are nobody unless the buy something new. Clearly we can now see the effects of excesive human consumption. Today clean air is everywhere, as is clean water and clear skies. There is no traffic on our roads or in the air. There is no noise pollution, no air pollution, no pollution whatsoever compared to what we had 6 months ago. Clearly today we can see the earth is a living organism, capable of healing itself if us humans allow it the time by stopping our endless ratrace, which by the way most of us hate and only a few of us have learned to live away from the rat racetrack.
It is not up to our governments to effect this change, and the wealthy of this world, that infamous 1%, does not want this change to happen, and they will do everything in their power to go back to business as usual, but believe you me, we can live a better live by living frugally and staying at home to make a living whilst enjoying life with our farmily and friends. It may seem out of reach today, especially to those nearing retirement, but to those of you who still have most of your life in front of you, it will be worth your while and it will make your life better.
Keep in mind that tomorrow is a dream and yesterday, a memory; the only reality is today, this instant!!
God bless Indian People
They took a pictures clips from foggy smoggy winter days in Delhi... And compare it with summer rainy days... Disgusting
Have you ever been to Delhi? I stay here and can see clear blue skies everywhere. It's been more than a decade that Delhi has seen such a clear sky. Before the pandemic, it was all white smoky skies during summers and winters as well. So stfu before judging a book by it's cover.
Wow! That is Awesome!
Make video on yamuna river plz ☺️☺️☺️
I'd like to know what India are going to do about pollution, when virus is gone and things are back to normal..
Nothing. Absolutely nothing...
nothing because they can’t
@@justapotato1176 There's no can't about it... they're now one of the richest countries in the world.. it's about time they started spending money on people/environment...
cherie goodwin Still not. We will toughen our laws and spend more on sanitation etc when we reach 5000 per capita. That would have happened by 2028 at most without the Corona crisis. Now you can't predict anything for anyone.
@@cheriegoodwin6819 we do spend on environment
If all cars were petrol luxury cars instead of diesel and two stroke then India air would be clean.
Next they will show photos of some dry terrain and compare it with Himalayan mountain and say snowfalls occurred due to lockdown.
Yes, but will they keep it that way?!?!
Those little buggers did more on cleaning the environment then our best efforts to keep our newly invented technology ( like the Electron Generator created by John Searl ) out to the public.
