An unlikely crossover, but a welcomed one by me. I can see the basic premise: After the events of 1962’s King Kong Vs Godzilla, the big G washes up somewhere in the British sea after being knocked out cold by the eighth wonder of the world. He wakes up and tries to find something to eat (you know how it is with the morning munchies). And what better snack is there than a young dinosaurian creature he finds swimming in the sea. He attempts to launch a surprise attack like a shark hunting a seal, but then something else appears. The mother, Gorgo. She roars at Godzilla who accepts her challenge, resulting in a battle between two reptilian giants from Japan and Britain.
What Carpenter is not understanding is thinking our reactions to his young films would be NEGATIVE. We are in a post cringe era (or we should be) We would be carrying him around on our shoulders (even more than we already do)

@@DinoDiego16 yawn. whatever. i suppose it is a matter of perspective or perception. if YOU like something that is 'second generation' it is called being 'inspired' by something else. if YOU don't that makes it a rip-off. still, gorgo is closer to beast than it is godzilla. still, without beast/20,000 fathoms there would be no godzilla.
@@johnrunion5357It's not even a matter of liking something over another. It's basic facts and definition. Calling Godzilla a rip-off is not only unfair, it's just plain incorrect. But you do you, I guess, incorrect statements and all
Giant reptilian monster from the ocean whose name starts with a G. Yeah not a ripoff at all 😂
One's a tragic film where the giant reptilian monster is a literal representation of the atomic bomb, the other is an adventure story about a reptilian mother retrieving her offspring from a circus. The things that differ between the two films vastly outweigh the surface-level similarities
@@DinoDiego16 spin it anyway you like buddy still a godzilla ripoff 😂
