This is my favorite Animal Collective song.
The first time I heard this song I nearly cried it was that good.
saw them play with this crazy backdrop twice, once at the actual merriwether post pavilion venue, and once in detroit. man these guys are so awesome live.
Abby Portner was doing all their stage design at that time, she does a lot of the art for their stuff.

They didn't mix Noah's bass drum high enough... that's one of the most important parts of their current live show; it drives the changing time signatures and the beats!

Yeah, took a mate and myself ages to realise it wasn't the lighting and that he had actually dyed his hair.
When I saw them live I realised Avey looks kinda like John Travolta. I would never have made that connection beforehand but now that I've seen them in person I can't unsee the resemblance, though it is ever so slight. Funny how the mind works!
wow, this is fucking amazing. from the visuals, to the crowd shots, to the jammed improv during the last 3 minutes. noah is so awesome on the drums. definitely the best version of this song

Damn this is so much better than the album cut. I feel like Centipede could have been better if it just had a different type of mix. Im sure they were actually going for a more buried vocal sound based on the album theme but I like actually being able to clearly hear the words to this song.

Try listening to one of their better reviewed albums from start to finish a couple of times. It could just be because your ear isn’t used to their sound. There’s a lot of music that I didn’t initially “like” but after getting accustomed to it I absolutely loved it. Joanna Newsome is one example. She is another one of those intensely love or strongly dislike artists.
