  • Here, I explain my preferred settings when I go out with my camera on a cloudy day, in the evening or in the bright Mediterranean sun.
Usually, I start off “hunting”, walking around and spotting people and situations. Then usually I focus on a cool spot and get into “fishing” mode. I stay there and wait for someone to walk into my frame.
The difference in my settings are that when hunting, I need a high shutter speed and when fishing, I need also preferably a high depth of field, but usually I use pretty much the same settings and only adjust according to the light that is available.
Low light means high ISO (800-6400), high light availability means low ISO (200-800) and I always try to have shutter speed around 1/500 sec and depth of field of f8.
