    I have this exact model and it is a great bow. However, on day one the limb bolts were very hard to turn. My dealer dialed down the weight to my requested 55 lbs, but did not comment on the hard to turn limb bolts. Found out for myself once I got home. Turns out the threads were completely bone dry with lots of aluminum particles, so I disassembled, cleaned, and applied some lithium grease to the threads which helped some. Years later when turning out the bolts (well below the 10 turns max) a bolt seized completed followed by the threads stripping and the bow disassembling itself and limbs falling off. The aluminum cylinder limb bolt anchor's threads completely failed and fortunately no injury and no other parts damage, the limbs being under relatively low compression at the time. Called the US dealer I bought it from who said he didn't have parts and doubted PSE had parts either because this NEVER EVER happens. Called PSE who said this has occurred multiple times and said my grease fix was appropriate (when I rued not using anti-seize compound). PSE refused to ship or sell parts directly to me citing liability reasons. They sent a set of new bolts and cylinders to another local PSE dealer who was super helpful. When the parts arrived (no charge from PSE) there were two issues. One, the new cylinders had one sided shoulders and thus would not seat in the riser fully. So I pried out the stick-on aluminum oval plates covering the riser cylinder recesses and the new cylinders slid in place perfectly. Removing the plates has the added advantage of no longer hiding the usable threads on the limb bolts. Two, the dry threads on the new parts were binding already (dry fitting off the bow). I found about 4 thread nicks on each steel limb bolt, probably from being tossed into parts bins. To prevent these thread nicks from damaging the soft new aluminum cylinder threads, I judiciously filed down the nicks and hand dry fit the steel bolts to the aluminum cylinder threads. Generated some minor aluminum dust which I blew clean with compressed air before applying anti-seize compound and installing the new parts. Anti-seize is best for slow turning but high stress parts and grease is better for fast rotating and lower stress parts. My Evolve 31 is now fully restored, shooting acccurately, and the limb bolts are easy to turn even when under max tension. So if your limb bolts seem very hard to turn or stop turning they could seize and strip the threads. I would get new parts, hand fit the threads, and apply anti-seize.

    I just recently got the evolve 31, had the creaking noise at the cam, put the wax on behind the module and it’s gone. Thank you for taking the time to do these reviews, they are greatly appreciated ...

      @@conradsmith6037 I put it under the entire module and then tighten it back down snug. The sound never came back.

    Xpedite vs evolve 31 HL mod accuracy challenge would be a good vid. Great vid as always!

    Great video as always. Do you think the evolve 31 shoots as accurate as the evolve 35 or shootdown? I'm still shooting a 2006 bowtech equalizer (32" ATA, 3.5lbs, short draw) and these PSE evolves are the first bow in ages which are tempting me to switch. The old equalizer is a near perfect fit for me which is why I keep loving it.

    Yeah I bought the Carbon Air in March. And I have to admit, that the creak or noise when drawing bow back has been a little unsettling. Its nice to hear that there is a fix, why not let me know at time of purchase steve? Will try the "fix" when home.

    Fun review as always! Need an updated review of the Xpedite preferably with the HL mods. Compare that with the evolve 31 and 35.

    Nice review as always, slightly off topic but can you advise a sorter ata bow for a draw length of 32 inches....I currently have a Freak SP, but am interested in a more compact setup for the woods. cheers

    • @beaudemers8982
      @beaudemers8982 6 лет назад

      you are going to have issues with a bow smaller than 33" ata with a 32" draw length. The string angle will be unruly, it'll be harder to get a consistent anchor point and you will be quite far from the peep sight

    Nice bow but a bit out of my price range. As a recurve archer wanting to try compound for target I'm thinking about a stinger as my son shoots one. Are you still planning to do a video on the stinger at 50m with a target setup?

      Agreed as the one shot I had with my sons left hand bow shooting right handed went into the x at 25 meters. I'm more interested in seeing what you would fit to it for 50 meters target archery. I'm thinking WNS SPC 300 but other than that I'm not sure.

    I actually LOVE all your vids! I'm from US .
    As an advisor bowhunter and 3D shooter, I enjoy trying different brands. But, you are either sponsored as a seller or a shooter or maybe both. Why? Because every PSE that you review is a favorable one in every test!
    I've owned PSE..they are great bows! But Elite,Mathews,Hoyt "not a fan". Lol also have just as good shooters.
    I've owned many over my 30+ yrs of bowhunting and 3d and enjoy most of the brands. I'm actually shooting Bear bows. Arena 30 for hunting and 34 for 3d. Love them but I'm not biased. It would just be nice to know that PSE is favoring you in some way. But not needed.

      My point is the longer bows tend to be easier to shoot. In the Mathews Triax promo's they have pros nailing with the Triax at 70 meters. Which to me is amazing. I have always found the shorter bows hard to shoot so it will be interesting to see.
