I LOVE Disney during the holiday seasons! This video has me so excited to see it in person again this year! I wanted to let you know, you talked about the Bell Carolers that used to do the DCA tree lighting ceremony, they performed pretty regularly in the lobby of the Grand Californian last year during the holidays! I’m not sure if they’re doing that again this year but loved experiencing it while getting some of the treats in the lobby!
When I see the decorations,it feels like seeing an old friend!🎄⭐😃

The bell ringers are actually in the lobby of Disney’s grand Californian for the holidays. They have a schedule during the day and they will come to perform. It’s so neat because their stage is right next to the gingerbread house.
But I miss Mickey’s costume from the 2013 holiday season. It was so awesome.
Great to know, we will be at Disneyland hotel 1st week of Jan… is there a way to find out events at the hotels?? I’d love to see them!!

@@mozimzim I think you would need to go to the hotel and check the schedule listed there. But there might be a CM in the parks who would know!! I hope that helps! I’m sorry I don’t have much information on this year’s schedule for the hotels.
I’m bummed, we were supposed to go 12/7-12/13 but instead I have to have surgery. I’m looking forward to seeing the holiday season through Fresh Baked though!!
we splurged back in July for the "dining package" for World of Color. We had a lovely late lunch @ Wine Country Trattoria. It was a little pricey, but we got a whole tasty meal. We had reserved standing is what I would call it, a little disappointed, but whatcha gonna do. We were able to do what we wanted without waiting more than 30 minutes. We've done many dining packages, dessert party for Ooogie Boogie, great seats for the villians parade, but SO MUCH sugar ... I would have preferred some apps with my (included) beverage. Thanks David, another great video.

OK Dave, you've done it to me. Just watching the not-quite-done decorating at Disneyland and DCA made me determined to go next year. The grand-princesses will be four years old. I already got tickets for next year, and we were all going to try to figure a good time to do. I just made the unilateral decision. BUT then again... I have co-workers going next week, and I want to hear what the crowds will be like. I really, really want to go for Christmas time. 20 years ago, when their dad was 12, he and I went to WDW for the first time, just after Thanksgiving. It was wonderful. But I like Disneyland. It seems to have more history, more personality.

I haven’t been able to visit since 2019 and I have never experienced Christmas time. So excited that we’ll be able to visit the first week in December this year. We’ll only have two days but I am determined to make the most of that time. Thank you for the wonderful videos and giving such great tips!

If you’re not one that needs the projections during fireworks, I love watching them from the millennium falcon! it feels like we all just blew up the death star 🥰
We agree! We even filmed the Life Day fireworks last year from the balcony above the falcon.

Ahh, so happy for all the early decor! Visiting in a few days, this yr decided to hit the between times, and with rain forecast hoping for some lovely Disney peace… but we’ll see! Love the Christmas merch & so on tho, so yay! We’ve seen the fireworks & parade, most recently with a full moon almost exactly 3 yrs ago, can’t rly top that. This yr taking it a little easy. Can’t wait, we rly need this trip!

@@sylviabrowning3434 Hi Sylvia... Here's a tip,if you want to get one you need to be there when the park opens early in the morning..I was able to get one years ago on a trip to Disneyland and that's what I had heard about that myself and it's true because they sell out quick ! 😊

I was thinking just before you addressed it, that I much prefer the nighttime parade, as you get more of the full affect of all the lighting….and it’s generally more magical, to me….but I understand your perspective.
We agree. Nighttime is wonderful. We shot the nighttime Christmas Fantasy Parade last year (2021) in 4K DolbyVision®HDR and the colors and lighting was amazing. I won't link to my channel because it upsets David... just know that we agree with you.
Christmas Fantasy, isn't the only parade. There was also the Main Street Electrical parade that happened this year.
Just a comment about Fantasmic- it will be happening during the week of November 21 (Thanksgiving week) but then it is not happening during the week (M-Th) after that until December 12. That said, I love and love looking forward to your videos!

The "Peddy-bone" lift trucks need the height to install the tree. Once the tree is up, the garland across the street will go up. Sorry, we're going to miss it.
You are correct that they use Pettibone telehandlers to install the trees. Heavy-duty lift vehicles for a big job!
Lol, we randomly camped out in the hub for fireworks one yr on a bench, it was awesome. With several people, super relaxing. Next time we tried that there was a major earthquake 5 mins before the show, & haven’t tried it again since! Been disappointed by wind as well of course, so between that and that they have had them so few days since lockdown, I think we actually haven’t seen fireworks in a long old time. Gotta remedy that eventually! (Ps, have seen from Small World, that was awesome, also from GE which was fun but oh so loud)
What year was this "major" earthquake? Anaheim hasn't had a major earthquake in decades.
@@WindowtotheMagic I was wondering myself & can’t find it. Around 2013-2015? Sry, yeah, not “major” but I did feel it and saw Astro Orbitor sway, so it felt major to me ;) Everything was shut down, and some of the young cast were fairly shouty & panicky… you can imagine Main St, absolutely shoulder to shoulder, we all shuffled by inches for ever to get out. Quite a memory.
Ah, found, 3/28/2014, 5.1 by La Habra, did close the rides & just got everyone very jittery!

We agree. Ever since he stopped trying to do those shallow focus tricks, the video quality improved greatly! Looks great now.
The small world area is no good for the parade as they use that for the extended extended queue and stroller parking. They used to also do photo ops on there but I don't remember of they will still or if they permanent moved them to where they currently are at (on the stairs/street).
Have you ever watched World of Color from the viewing balcony on the Grand Californian?
Great video! How would you recommend seeing Fireworks and Fantasmic in one night? I know in a different video you mentioned that the second Fantasmic show is usually less crowded, is that to the point where I can watch the fireworks and then get a decent view of Fantasmic?
Fireworks first, then 2nd fantasmic show. But be on the left side of the hub if possible to make it easier to get to NOS. It's gridlock in a few minutes once the show is over. Plan B is is first fantasmic show, then watch the fireworks from ROA.
