  • I love going out to eat and trying new places. My wife and I joke that most of our trips together - whatever the city - are simply spent walking from one restaurant to another. Sometimes we will try places friends have recommended. Other times, we will search the internet for restaurants with the best reviews. Word of mouth and personal recommendations have a big impact on where we’ll try…and where we won’t.
Something similar is true of faith and religion.
There are a lot of good reasons why people avoid organized religion today. Too many bad experiences with judgmental, anti-intellectual, mean-spirited, patriarchal and partisan ‘church folk’ leads to a lot of bad reviews.
But just as people can be turned away from faith because of the witness of Christians, most people who choose to follow Jesus do so because of the POSITIVE WITNESS of Christians through whom they have experienced God’s love and from whom they’ve heard a compelling witness of what it means to be a Christian.
I hope you’ll join us this Sunday at 9:15am CT. We aren’t perfect, but we know the One who is and, around here, we are trying to become more and more like Him. We are a church that is trying to become more and more like Jesus and, around here, there is always room for one more.
