That song is fkn deep!! My mom battled addiction. She didn't get clean until I was 22. Sober 2 years and then died. My brother wouldn't speak to her. He missed out on the 2 years she was sober. But I get it. It's hard. I miss her so much. She was around and a good mom when I was little. And then just snapped one day. Just gone. Not sure whats worse knowing what having a good mom feels like and having it ripped away or just not knowing at all. When she was sober 2 years I had my mom back!! 😢 I was angry at God like why! Then I realized one day that I had 2 years with her that I wouldnt have had if she would have died before she was clean. God gave me that breif gift. So many things I wanted to say and didn't and can't now. Thanks for this song. I listened to it atleast 6 times back to back. ❤ mad respect for you making this song for your mom man. Your music fans can honestly say you have helped us realize we are not alone. Dont ever feel like you dont have genuine fans out here ❤❤ because you really do. ❤

I almost didnt watch this vid, but thankful I did. My mom had confessed that she did things differently when me and my siblings were growing up. Not staying in a shitty marriage. She tells me dont waste your life being miserable no matter how mich ot sets you back. We grew up okay but when my mom left my dad we lived in the worst apartments. It was tough on my mom and I wish I had more compassion for how hard it was for her. She is my everything ever since.
My mom stayed with my abusive father because abuse she couldn’t afford 4 kids on her own… I would have been less damaged living in the ghetto then having to grow up with a very abusive father.

Also her carefree "Miley" is meant to represent the fundamental juxtaposition of him breaking in the dark, while she plays "carefree" in the light. It was a very calculated well thought out move. Nem NEVER wears his heart while leavening any part of showing it to chance, or accident.

Im sorry you and nathan were scared growing up. I can relate, I didnt have a father and my mother didnt like me since birth. Maybe try talking to her more because even from another side she probably still comes around you and Nathan. I dont know anything about your mom but Id bet she is sad seeing you 2 hurting and would make up for it if she could. I hope you keep healing.
