For nerds: the reason it fits well together it's because he is rapping on the 5th note of the musical scale and because it's a defining solid note of the scale even when navigating through different modes and chords it fits so well.

Can you explain more... Does this fifth note also changes when the key changes?
So the main key is a D minor (=Aeolian mode), the song uses other modes like D ionian (major scale) and D dorian.
All these modes have the same root (1st note) and the same 5th note.
This is why the 5th is powerful because it is very harmonic to all the chords and is like a fluid transitioning note btween modes.
And the singer somtimes touches the minor 3rd note which is very defining and very harmonic to the main mode (aeolian).
To resumate: he is singing on a note which is harmonic to all the chords and belongs to all the modes, furthermore he occasionally touches the 3rd minor note which is extremely harmonic to a minor mode.
