  • Episode 36 - We visit three famous Turkish Bazaars. The Grand Bazaar, the Egyptian Bazaar and Pendik Markets. They are vibrant and bustling marketplaces where locals and tourists alike can find a wide variety of goods, from fresh produce and spices to textiles, ceramics, and handcrafted items. These markets are an integral part of Turkish culture and a popular destination for shopping and socializing.
The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul is one of the most famous bazaars in the world and the largest with over 4,000 shops and stalls selling everything from jewelry and carpets to leather goods and antiques. It is a colorful and lively place where visitors can haggle with vendors and experience the sights, sounds, and smells of a traditional Turkish market.
The Egyptian Bazaar built in 1664 and is also known as the spice bazaar, wins the prize for being the most colorful, fragrant, and often the most fun - as visitors can taste the goods on offer.
The Pendik Markets often take place in open-air squares and streets on the weekend, and they offer a more local and authentic shopping experience where you can get some real bargains. You can expect to find a wide array of goods, including fresh fruits and vegetables, olives, cheeses, and other local produce from the farmers market area. Also browse through the endless stalls full of clothes, from shirts, jeans, shoes, hats and many other household items. Turkish bazaars and street markets are not just places to shop but also to experience the rich and diverse culture of Turkey.

I have just binged watched your Istanbul videos and Hanoi ones. I loved them. ❤ I will be going to Istanbul for 3 day in September and then onto Vietnam. I’m not sure if you are into shopping at all but would you know which country would you say has the best price and best fakes when it comes to handbags and t-shirts Istanbul or Vietnam? India is on the list hopefully next year so I will be looking forward to watching those videos. 😊

Hi Vicki we love binged watchers 😍 Glad you enjoyed the video's 🙂 When it comes to fakes as regards clothing items Istanbul certainly had a far few at the markets in Pendik but I would say India would be your best bet all over to get fake handbags and clothing etc. Hope you enjoy your trip and thanks for your comment and watching our video's. Warm regards Tim & Serena 💚💙
