Facts
Basically a mix between surge or zephyr and Orion. So this is just a surge/zephyr with infinite range emp, nice. Totally not annoying at all XD. We just need a better m.d. plarium. I'm hoping that you will be able to restore this with the new pilot being a guided weapon pilot. That is also something that could be given.
Eclipse is a great counter, the issue is that it's kinda the ONLY counter (although I'm hearing Sentinel/Ares shields block the ability.. Sentinel may about to become much more useful lol).
Also we don't need easier DL spam, 2 Sniper pilots is bad enough lol
Guardian could probably counter it. But only if it is on allies. Also I only said guided pilot because that is an older class that only has one pilot for it apart from artillery.

Man! The video was awesome!! Much different than your other ones. A bit of humour, a bit of sarcasm and everything in the video is awesome. Also, I think it is much better to face this than maxed out Bastions and Onyx with auto aim in the hands of bots. Frankly, I won't want to face any of these. But yeah. Great content as always Ruff.

I think (personally) it's better to fight things that can one-shot you, than to fight things that keep you from being able to play.. 😅

I love hemlock and play him very aggresively - support when it suits you. You can really help others in a pinch, or turn the tide on opening clash.

110% agree. I was so hoping for a legendary version of M.D. (maybe a mech that applies a Heal Over time buff instead of Aura to his allies so you don't have to stay near them) Hemlock would be better if his ability would spread to other mechs after the initial mech dies like Orion's ability. Then It would make him more supportive but I think Hemlock is very lack luster. Big pass.
The ability is fine ig, but it's not the support mech that we all want. If we already had multiple healers, then sure, Hemlock is great
Imagine having to deal with a powerful bot using this. Legendary md heal for 10 seconds and give damage immune for 5 seconds and 15 second cool down on ability
A legendary mech that gives buffs like brick house but worse and will heal a lot for X seconds and cool down 4/3 how long ability last for. Are these good ideas??
Lol realistically, probably not good ideas. Healers (in any game) are hard to balance, they can quickly get super OP (MD used to be OP, if you didn't know.. lol)
Hemlock is either better if gotten a New ability or the same ability as Orions Mech mark that buffs damage by 150% But for hemlock it passes the Same ability
In 2v2 my favorite mode, this mech DOMINATES. It actually isn’t a support though.

Edit: for anyone who didn't play team fortess 2, the übercharge is a feature that the medic, the healing class, have, it basically give 15 seconds of total damage invulnerability to himself and the one he's healing

We didn't need this ability in particular; what would have suited the name at least is a poison or corrosion effect combined with the guardian ability (hemlock is a poisonous plant), or at worst stasis and overheat at the same time. As you say, it's not geared towards team support in the traditional sense, but putting a high output dps out of action can be clutch.

Yea, Orion is pretty balanced, and the same may be true of Hemlock, we just need time to figure out counter strategies
Like the presenters (fun fact, they may be AI Generated voices because I saw and heard an ad with the exact same voice as the male presenter in the spotlights) themselves said in the spotlight of Orion, it can go toe to toe with attackers which supports SHOULD NOT be able to do. Orion at the release time had the best speed, HP and arguably ability. M.D. is a support because it heals. Cheetah's mines are for supporting beacons. They may be offensive or defensive, but Cheetah's HP refrains you from attacking at times. Zephyr well, its kinda fragile, but the EMP kinda allows you to be an attacker, but still within the realms of a supporter. Orion is a big no-no, it was just an attacker straight up. And for the OGs, we all know Arachnos was an attacker, and Chungus was a tank. Still though, Chungus kind of supports with its overcharger, balanced out with its speed.
Hemlock... yeah no. Its just an attacker. Supporters shouldn't have both great speed and high HP at the same time with the addition of a decently aggresive ability- they should be supporting attackers. Hemlock may be used as a marker, to mark which enemies to pick off to your teammates, but it kinda wastes the great speed and HP pool. So yes, Hemlock should probably be an attacker.

I think, currently the Support class suffers from generally poor performance, however we do not want simply "an OP Support", we want "an effective Supporter".
As you mentioned, it may seem weird but it's true, Supports should have subpar stats. Their strength is in their team-play abilities. Ideally, a Support and an attacker would almost always be more effective than 2 attackers, but what we find is that Supports are just bad, or made to be stand-in attackers with "unconventional" abilities to make them seem more Supportive, but really they're just not.
Orion and Hemlock are not made to Support, they are made to kill, and that is it.
@@RuFFlesGaming the reason you play support is to be chads, plus the feeling of healing people is unexplainable, but can be summarized as, dopamine releasing
facts. Team support is a key component of team play, but supporting the team (in ways other than "insta-delete dangerous enemy") in MA is very impractical, tbh

I also kind of don't like this one too, because it's just another stun mech, and most likely players would put ems on it that already annoys me lmao. Yeah, i guess you're right in straight forward sense of support but A Support can widely be described as 1. it can be healer 2. it can help to support your team like brick house 3. it can help to jam 1 or more mechs in the battle field. Support can be in different forms. You can Daze multiple targets by using legendary cooldown implants, Doesn't this count as a support while they are just stand still for 7sec? I mean am i the only person who can understand here or you've a different definition of Support on your own.
Who said that the support can only be medic?...
it doesnt have to only heal, but the fact is theres like 6 supports, half of them are damage-dealers (which is moreso an attackers role), and only 1 healer that happens to be super low tier

i think it looks a little strange with how wide the mech is and i think it moves too fast. i can see the flaws and i still want a healer mech but you've got to look at the bright side. at least the ability looks really cool

I genuinely thought this was a healer. I'm sure I read somewhere that they were going to implement one. Such a shame. This sounds like such a terror for 1vs1.

They've said on multiple occasions that they have no plans for another healer in the near future
Technically, there are Five Types. They are:
1) Attacker. Do I seriously need to explain this?
2) Influencer. The guy who takes Control Points
3) Attack+Influence. All of the above.
4) Punisher Of PWTTCKE(people who think they can kill everyone). Destroys everyone who is isolated from the group
5) Hero. Sacrifices themselves to destroy the god enemies
I do like how classes are only a vague suggestion of the intended use of a mech (there's no "only attackers can use this weapon" only "mech must have the energy to use it"), but I don't like Hemlock. He's gonna be a long range Surge with a press-button-to-win-1v1 ability almost entirely because of that EMP compensation being waaaay too long and he himself not having any inherit statistical weakness. He's not too pretty either.
I'd love a Legendary Healer. Even just taking MD and buffing HP will be enough, but I'd like a sort of "tether" ability that constantly heals one target as long as they're in range and LoS. Bonus points if it cleans and provides immunity to ailments. If healing is a difficult thing to balance, we can scale healing strength off of missing HP%, like the First Aid Kit in L4D restoring 80% of missing health.
Supports should be the class with bonkers abilities but not enough health to survive direct engagements. Like Panther, if Panther didn't have 32 energy for some reason.
I enjoy that mechs are flexible, but the role should be an indicator of what they're best at. Attackers don't NEED 32 energy, but most have it bc their strength is dps, along with whatever special perks/abilities they have.
Not that they've followed these roles very closely, historically

Dude awesome review! I would love it if they created a dome shield that healed and prevented enemy attacks from entering up to X amount of damage. This way it has the benefit of being a true support mech/shield and can also attack through the shield.

Yea, a mix between Aegis defense dome and MD healing. Small twist: team bullets go through dome. That would be sooo great support! 😅🤔😱🤣
I just hate its anothwr emp/stun. And for gods sake, plarium, please fix Tengu abilty. He's not supposed to be able to be frozen or stunned while in the air but he does.
Tengu was always able to be stunned by Surge, but at the time of his glory, Surge was still really bad lol.

The way the mech walks is funny😂, but honestly mech isn't that bad, though this mech is completely unnecessary (better if he is a rare mech instead of a legendary)

Hemlock might be the worst support. It looks OP when u have him with the comp recharge gold implant that makes his comp infinite, and a fast discharging weapon like quantum/nade/missile rack16... Will you be testing any of its OP builds?
I made this video under the assumption that everyone already understands it is an OP 1v1 mech, and to highlight the fact it is bad at supporting.

I played against an SP dropping 10.3k player this morning that had a rank 5 Hemlock with Helix in 2v2. It was more annoying to deal with than any of their pinked-out mechs. I'm expecting this mech will change the meta.

I mean it need much more counters because tank mech almost dont counter him, close range weapons, mid, far, fast mechs. ONLY CONTER IS ECLIPSE, like *only counter* in the game
Sentinel shield apparently blocks it, which I find really nice

Your best bets against Hemlock until you get to T7, is Redeemer and Guardian

However, I think I would take the Daze ability, and turn it into a team-play mechanic, probably by making Hemlocks stats much weaker, but changing the ability to an AOE instead of a single shot

Support is the best place for Hemlock, but it's not the kind of support people wanna play, it's just a knockoff attacker with a less obviously-attacker ability.
Also yes, Panther is more of a support than Arachnos, but ig we all know they play favorites there.. lol

Much more effective than boycotts. They’re more likely to do something if 1,000 people yell at them in a coordinated manner than if their profit drops half a percent for two weeks.

We will see. Historically, they've done a great job balancing items (not perfect, but each new release is often worse than the current meta), so even though there's always someone saying what you're saying every update, I think you can admit that it's probably not true 😅

@@RuFFlesGaming Oh wellz. Dunno man, after seeing some videos on it, and realising the sleep is homed and therefore can be done out of sight (just like Orion), makes this a terrifying ability. I genuinely see this mech becoming S tier very fast. I would think the best play style would be to say rail gun, then apply the stun, then get a free shot in after, or if you're reloading/recharging a teammate can finish off (make it a very legitimate support role). It also legitimises rockets and nades again, allowing people to create a barrage before for the first hit, and making it almost impossible to escape the following hits. One question, because this ability is homed, is it possible to use it on stealthed mechs? (sorry never played orion). If its possible, imagine a surge charging forward and tapping the sleep just before they stun. That's a dead surge. If it's not possible mid charge, then it's not as OP as I thought.
@Fwobbed you can only fire it when you have target. You can fire it before a Surge dash, which isn't too hard, but Eclipse is gonna kill Hemlock fairly easily I think.
