I've been a big storm collectibles guy for a long time. This is now my favorite line and company of all time. They are so well built and are such a pleasure to handle. I really think they have the head/ body sculpts absolutely perfect. Paint is also super impressive.
I've let my two year old son play with my orc for a few weeks now and its as if he just came out the box still. Any storm collectibles would be completely destroyed.
The dragon warrior 🐼
That’s a panda , but maybe he transforms into a dragon
@@juzoinui4627 I think they are referring to the little bendy dragon that comes with the panda.
@@mrkirios ah okay
@mrkirios Pretty sure they're referring to Po from Kung fu panda who was given the mantle of 'the dragon warrior'.
@@death244this
This company is doing great things.i don't have any connection for WOW but I've been buying metyz stuff. I got kargath 2 weeks Go and was blown away. Everything from the sculpt, paint and how smoothly the articulation moved. That being said, this is a must have too
Hey, man! I’m new to your channel, and I just subscribed! From what I have seen so far, your reviews are the most thorough and comprehensive; they are honest yet objective-that is a winning combination!
Thanks a lot. I really appreciate it. Welcome to the channel.
I'm all for as many accessories as is possible without ballooning the cost too much. Considering a $25 Hasbro toy most often has only one or two recycled/overused accessories, and a 1000Toys Halo figure doesn't even come with more than 1 weapon or an un-helmeted head at almost $200, I will gladly take too many hands and accessories. It just adds to the playability and the variations we each can pose our figures. Accessories should be purposeful. I shouldn't have accessories that I don't have hands to hold them with. Figures should have at the least the two most common facial expressions central to that character. If they are known to come with multiple weapons or have some other feature or power, they should come with the effects pieces and accessories to complete it. This Panda figure looks like a character that could be a hand to hand specialist or weapons master that also likes to chill with a drink. It looks like he came with everything these guys felt they needed to complete those aspects at the price point they felt was achievable. I wish more companies, 1st party and 3rd party alike, did more of that.
Glad to have you back and that yr healed up. 👍🤘
For real Memory Toys puts put ridiculous amount of love to their products
good to see ya back. ok with 3rd party....soft goods done well are ok. excited to get this one.
Glad you’re healed up, great review and figure
So nice to have you back
Welcome back Anthony!
Another Awsome review of another Fabulous figure from MetyToys, hope he gets available soon to buy it. 😍😍😍
the eye glow is dope
Welcome back Anthony! also for the question of the day, i guess the soft goods depends on what they used it for, normally i'd be okay for soft goods cape, but as for figure's attire i prefer sculpted.
Really cool figure the shading around his mane where the black meets white and on his toes makes him really stand out.
1. Fully onboard with TPs and honestly they are so much more satisfying for me than main lines like SHF, Figma, etc. Prices are generally cheaper and quality on some of my recent buys is just exceptional and tight.
2. Generally against fabrics on my figures, except in cases where they are needed for functional reasons -- characters like Darth Vader for instance. I much prefer plastic in almost every other instance, Sasuke/orochimaru from the Naruto SHF line showcase some very nicely made fleixible plastic that doesn't get in the way of posing
Love the third party stuff. I'm getting more appreciation for soft goods now as well the more I buy things with it. Just waiting for China to release my panda and ship him out, as he didn't make it on the plane before CNY hit.
Yeah, the tech behind new new soft goods is great! I have Brotoy's Storm King/Varian Wrynn, and the fur on his hood, gauntlets, and belt are so realistic and great looking in hand. Not crude and awkward looking like soft goods stuff 20+ years ago.
Dang, these warrior anthro characters look so cool.
Reminds me of FuRay Planet and their anthro characters.
They cost a lot but they get my imagination going. Lots of cool action scenes that can be display and photographed.
How opportune! I JUST got my very first 1/12 scale softgoods piece from aliexpress and actually quite liked it. Right now I'm seeing it more as an extra accessory to spruce up the display (I got a sweatshirt/hoodie type jacket for an ML figure), as opposed to a main display component. I still mainly prefer my figures to be sculpted. But having cloth accessories when it's too hard or impossible to do sculpts is fine by me.
They are still available on 5K, and for a lot cheaper than the Amazon listing. $89 plus probably around $9 for shipping.
Great review! I'm looking forward to their goblins and turtles
I don't care if it is a 3rd party, if it is good I go for it. The clothes as long as they are intentional to improve the figure looks I'm totally into it. But not always works. This "W.O.W" figures are amazing, coming out faster than my wallet can refill
Hey Anthony my Panda came with batteries check the bottom of the box. Also my head fits pretty tight so your's might just be a QC issue. Very solid review keep up the great work. You're awesome.
I checked the box. Probably just bad luck. You were able to get the head to seat back on those tabs? I'll have to have another go at it
Bummer. I found it easier to get the head to fit on by taking the light socket off the peg then seating it inside the head. After that I just popped it back on the peg and it seemed to fit pretty tight. I hope that helps.@@AnthonysCustoms
Sample or not it’s safe to say some of these 3rd party companies are killing it.
I adore 3rd party figures
I am very on board for 3rd party. 4th and KO is a different story. Soft goods depend on the toy but anything removable is fine with me.
I’ve definitely never thought that a figure has too many accessories lol.
Mety/memory/hero toys are making some dope figures I have all the orcs they have made so far and I'm all in with what they got coming out ! Great review !
Don't forget Brotoys! Storm King and Lich King are both center piece level. The details and paint on them, along with the soft goods are insane! The magnetic accessories and sheath for swords are genius too.
mety/mithril/hero toys are killing it
Brotoys is killing it too. The Warcraft figure "Storm King" aka Varian Wrynn is awesome as well. It feels so premium and goes well with the orcs and pandas of these other companies. They are making Lich King Arthas next and it looks freaking awesome too.
@@sigerlion8608 them too im also in on that line. my WOW setup goinh to be epic
I've only seen Titan Toys announce it, brotoys will release Anduin in control of Jailer @@sigerlion8608
Hero Toys is other Mety Toyz side name, Mety Toyz, Memory Toys and Hero Toys are the same
Welcome back Anthony. For the QOTD, I'm personally ok with softgoods but they should be better executed than the softgoods we got from the 90s (the scaling and materials from these 3rd party figures are amazing - dare I say the fit on the figures are better than Mezco).
They definitely are. Mezco almost never look good imo
I agree one of my favorite companies at the moment
I literally own all of their figures, and together with grey knight (ex mithril action) and maestro union they are my current favorites. You should definitely get the panda brothers from maestro union too! Great review man.
Btw...this is essentially Chen Stormstout and yes he is from the pandarian expansion and before that warcraft 3.
Keep pumpin eh 3rd party Anthony!💪🏻
I can’t wait to get mine.
The glowing eyes is my selling point
I'm glad your back 💪
"I want to show you my package " thats the line i used on my wife
Waiting for their goblins, I waited for good goblins figures for years!!!
The character this figure is supposed to represent, Chen Stormstout, is a monk martial artist in the games so I'd argue the poor leg articulation does hurt him a bit. Still looks amazing tho
I'm in on the 3rd party companies (not KO or Bootleg only 3rd party) and on the soft goods when they're well done and work in favor of the figure. I agree with your opinion regarding the accessories and I couldn't care less for the light gimmicks or sound gimmicks, specially when they interfere with articulation, sculpt, price or anything else. I display my figures so I'll never use the electronic gimmicks and when they have lights in the eyes (be it light pipping or led) they will end up looking dead when turned off, I normally prefer figures without electronics.
Legs going forward should do a bit better but other then that the articulation is good.
Thanks for the review Anthony.
P.S. It's the Pandaren Brewmaster Chen Stormstout from Warcraft III, but they eventually released that race in the Pandaria WoW expansion as you said Anthony.
P:S.1. Hero toys/Memory toys/MetyToyz are focusing on Warcraft III characters, even though they fit in WoW too since the lore is the exact same.
8:16 for me personally, I don’t use a large majority of the accessories that come with my figures, and if there are too many it’s almost overwhelming in my opinion. I think as long as the most important accessories are there I am fine with it, I value the quality of the core figure far more than I do all of its various doodads. Because if the figure isn’t fun or well made then the accessories won’t be fun to use with it either.
Looks ready to say “Simba”
For capes and long coats I prefer soft goods. For anything else, I prefer plastic.
I didnt expect a lot of articulation and agility from their big Panda Bear, but this heres a kung fu panda. I would expect agility there, but it looked good enough for me.
Coleccianista de multiverso takes the cloth goods off if anyone is interested in seeing the body of the panda.
Now if they can just make this in the TMNT Panda Khan outfit, I can put it with my TMNT ultimates 😝
I ordered 2 of it
Speaking of 3rd party, I get 3rd party transformers. Because they have die cast, really good paint and plastic, and aren’t full of waffles like hasbro. I just want quality stuff, and if I can’t get it from official products, I have to go 3rd party.
Long time no see Anthony! Welcome back!
Im ok with brand new stuff, especially when theres no existing figures of it. Im generally ok with wire capes for soft goods. Not a big fan of coats and whatnot.
Pov po from kung du pandas grandfather
I would love to compare these against the Maistro Union Panda brothers. I also got into the Joytoy 1/12 Level Nine Chaos figured and found out you had reviewed their first release. I got Hunter Lowe and Hitman Bourbon and plan of getting Gilly (You will love that one based on your past reviews. Also the Black Ghost is another version of soft goods, articulation and LED features from a company called Keepgoing.
Welcome
Back
1: IMO Unlicensed is fine as long as it's not a knock off, I think it should even be encouraged for IPs that are not getting love in the toy department, like Warcraft and Darksiders (fingers crossed for Legacy of Kain)
2: Soft goods are only good when they're accents or layered. Like this panda guy has layers so it's not egregious. Capes, tabards, and skirts are fine. Soft goods start to get shoddy when it's one huge piece, like wizard robes, or full-body suits like on many Mezco figures. That's when soft goods start to look like bathrobes and pajamas. There's always exceptions, though, like Maxbird's Shaman Robes for the mithril action orcs.
Side note since I know you're not a Warcraft guy, the black hair really saved this figure (at least for me). The figure is based on the character Chen Stormstout, who has black hair. So for the WC Nerds like me that need game accuracy, if it was gray hair only this was gonna be a pass.
I'm guessing it's packed in but not listed as an accessory to avoid copyright issues.
Don't they have TMNT line coming out?
Yeah they do
They do
Normally it is hard to see the eyes, but I think they're sunk back far enough on this guy that you can actually just see them without you covering it up.
This is Pandabubba from Xiaolin Showdown. I don't care what anyone says.
I always import from GunDamit
I have the hero toys Illidan and the Bro Toys Varian. They are both great.
I have this pandaren as well as Morna and that necromancer and murlocs and the titan toys Lich King on preorder. I also preordered that Grom Hellscream figure.
I love warcraft and couldnt be happier. Im eating pretty good. Bring on a Tyrande and Malfurion.
I got the diorama for this Pandaren as well. Only thing is I wish the hair was black and not white. I could probably paint his hair black. There is another version coming apparently that is black. Edit: i wasnt aware it comes with a head with black hair. That's great.
Also for the questions of the day...
With unlicensed stuff if its quality and all new I dont mind. Im not getting much in the way of warcraft stuff otherwise aside from half asses static posed figures from McFarlane that aren't even named characters I care about.
As long as the softgoods look good. The mezcos at 1/10 can look a bit too bulky. But given the size of these figures softgoods clothes can look good.
As for the black hair head, it's not in any of the photos but was in the package... Wrapped in bubble wrap and not in the blister. I can't say what the exact situation is.
@AnthonysCustoms that's nice! I wondered. Ill probably use that one.
Love me some soft goods! Couldn’t care less about things being 3rd party. I wish someone would start making some “FF7” 3rd party figures. Just name them something else like they do dragon ball figures. I get frustrated with to many accessories because companies like Mezco use it as an excuse to jack up the prices. I love that ninja turtle 4 pack but they are not worth $100 a piece. But because they come with a metric shit ton of accessories They jacked the price up for each one….
3rd party is the best toys being made now . Just wish they all werent $100 .
I have no idea what kind of cost savings there are in doing a mirrored hand compared to an original but I don't need double of every single pose, especially the non practical gestures like finger pointing.
I have no issue with 3rd party stuff. Not a huge fan of soft goods.
He has 1 main move, a high flying kick. Doesn't seem like he can do the pose.
I love world of warcraft. I played for years. (yes this comes from WOW) There called Pandarians. I even made and played as one...and I named him, what I'd name this figure if i get it. SHANG POO!! Get it? Like the Asian version of Winnie the poo? Shang the poo? Anyways I need to find where I can get this. I want a figure of..SHANG POO!!!
I'm fairly confused, is this the same company that made the illidan figure? Did they have a name change?
yes. they have been hero toys, memeory toys, and the current mety toyz. unlicensed products sometimes warrant aliases lol
@AnthonysCustoms valid point lol
Hey Anthony, do you have plans of reviewing the upcoming LPZZ Arkham Knight Batman?
Maybe
Is this supposed to be fung pu kanda?
Where can i get this figure?
I would suggest watching the video
Soft goods are good but it depends on size and scale. The bigger the scale of the figure the more likeness soft goods are to actual human clothes. There's a reason why the soft goods in Hot Toys 1/6 scale looks more natural compared to Mezco One12. Only thing Mezco did good are the capes and trench coats ..and Iron Man. Everything else have been executed poorly.
I’m fine with third party either way but I only will buy them if I know the characters or if I’m into the media presented and when it comes to soft goods I love Mezco so there’s your answer.
Old bear Po
WB
That's a lot of money for a lot of hands and zero actual weapons!
Looks cool, but not for me
The glowing eyes is my selling point
