As a plumber, I’ve been told many times not to smoke while working on natural gas to, and it’s been almost 17 years that I haven’t listen to that. By the way, a turbo torch is the best tool you could ever use in regards of finding a leak on a gas line… Works every time!🔥
The cigarette commercials are my absolute faves. I really like how they entice people to really wanna smoke different brands of cigarettes. If I would’ve been around back, then, I probably would have smoked them as well. I caught the tail end of the smoking commercials and, remember the anti-smoking commercials. I’m 62, and I feel lucky to be able to get these and hear them. I am totally blind, and these commercials really sounds so enticing and somewhat sexy for a woman to want to smoke. 7:01

Brings back memories as I grew up i the era and still vividly remember the jingles. The one of opening a can of beer with a can opener was absolutely precious. Takes me back to when I was 19 in Vietnam in the Army when they had a device that made the two punctures to the beer can. Returned from Vietnam at age 20 and still too young to drink. Old enough to die for my country but too young top drink or vote. Love this video. Brings back so many memories

My grandfather died of cancer when he was only in his 60s in the mid 1970s after many years of cigarette smoking….. 15 years later his daughter (my mom) died of lung cancer - she did not smoke but had been exposed to my grandfathers’ heavy smoking. He started smoking as a teenager when they were not aware of the dangers of smoking. Without William Morris erc my grandfather could have lived decadess longer and my mother could still be alive.

I saw the vd ad. Never saw the commercial but heard it on Armed Forces Radio in Korea where there were a not of vd cases in the early 1970s.

As a teen we used on put a hole in the can of beer then open it and drink it all down . We called it to shotgun a beer , more or less the same thing.

1950's commercials - played more cartoons than following decades and when they 'were' real actors the picture was STILL black&white.
The tobacco ads remind us that it wasn't until the mid-60s that tobacco was discovered to be a health hazard.
