I can’t describe how sweet Pashto sounds to me. Growing up with just my immediate family I didn’t hear Pashto much outside the house. Every time I talk to someone who speaks Pashto it feels like I’m talking to family.

I left my village in Azad Kashmir after passing 8th class on the 1st of April 1970. I lived and worked with people from all provinces and learned to speak Pashto, Punjabi, Saraiki Sindhi and a little bit of Balochi languages and other regional dialects.
Was fluent in Persian and Arabic as both languages were taught in our schools, but am not that proficient now. One learns languages in teens and early 20s.
It is a great pleasure to know multiple languages. I feel wherever I go in Pakistan.
