- Friends of Joannah Stutchbury visited the forest she defended with her life - cut short by bullets on 15th July 2021 in her driveway in Nairobi Kenya. Warned by powerful developers a few years earlier that she would be 'finished' for fighting against a road through Kiambu Forest, it looks like her killers made good their threat. Environmental defenders took the matter to the Kenyan parliament through the Committee on security asking for her killers to be arrested, the forest protected and grabbled land restored to forest. Though the police have not made any public statement about their investigation, on 26th October 2021 the Cabinet Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources revealed the names of all those involved in land grabbing of the forest in parliament. The Conservation Alliance of Kenya and friends continue to fight for Justice for Joannah.
