Anyone can wear braids. I fully understand if you think it's inappropriate but if you actually made some effort to learn about different cultures around the world, you would change your mind.

There are bunch of european and asian countries that use braids in their cultures. Braiding hair is really not that complicated of a concept that only one culture would have invented it. It's ok if you weren't aware of that, so no need to be angry or anything and I'm not here to fight you.
Like Taiga has said, braids do not belong to just one culture. You ought to know that considering you want to section this part of your culture off from her. Leave people be if you’ve nothing productive or nice to say.
