My two absolute favorite soap couples! I do have to throw Tad and Dixie into the mix, too, but Jesse & Angie and Greg & Jennie were awesome! :D When Jenny was killed, I was stunned. Those were the days of making sure you recorded and maybe even had some else to record a backup copy to be sure you didn't miss anything while you were away. LOL!
Miss Angie and Jesse need more black couples on daytime bring back all my children online or on tv

I Agree. It's a shame NINA & CLIFF we're unable to make it. They we're The first super Couple of The early 1980's. Taylor Miller & Peter Bergman. We're the first young love couples of The 1980's. They rode the way too. With JENNY & GREG & ANGIE & JESSE.

Loved this so much. I still cry when I see it. I had DVR it. I no longer have. I was glad somebody posted it. AMC I was 5 yrs old when I first started seeing it in 1970. And most of my Generation (GENERATION X) We all grew up on this show. we had it for almost 42 yrs in our life time. RIP AGNES NIXON. LOVED YOUR WORKED.
Debbie Morgan spoke at my college 22 years ago. She looked even better in person! Doesn't look like she has missed a beat. . .

I LOVE Jessie/Angie and Greg/Jenny! I was about their age (well the characters' ages) when they started their storylines. I didn't like characters in my own age range, in fact I have never liked the teen storylines. However, there was something different about these two couples' romances. Maybe it was because they were relatively clean stories; they weren't sleeping around with everyone, conniving, and being disrespectful to their elders. They just really loved the people they were with and fought like crazy to be together. Angie and Jenny were 'good girls' and Jesse and Greg were truly great young men. Jesse had his rough edges, but had a heart of gold. While I didn't plan my day around these two couples, I did always love them and truly rooted for them. They are great!!!!
Right. There was a purity to the four of them. The characters as well as the actors were likeable. The story lines were engaging. Both had the element of rich kid falling in love with someone from the wrong side of the tracks. I loved both couples equally and loved Jessie's friendship with Jenny and cried when they both died. Soaps will never be that good again. Kim is now on GH, so I hope they do right by her.
Luther Vandross was an absolute doll. Such a nice guy.

Darnell & Debbie were like the Male/Female Jackie Robinson of Soaps. Kristoff St. John (Neil) The Young & The Restless once said were it not for Angie & Jesse there wouldn't be a Dru/Neil or so many other Black Soap Couples. Also Darnell Williams like Kevin Mambo (Ex-Marcus Guiding Light), as well as Tonya Lee Williams (Olivia The Young & The Restless) are all British who in my opinion should be decorated by The Queen. Smokey Robinson was also a big fan of the show. In the UK there's an Actress named Diane Parish who plays Denise Wicks on Eastenders and she is the longest running Black Soap Actress in the UK.
This is probably before your time, but "OLTL" might have had the first Black couple with Captain Ed Hall & Carla Benari.

Angie is all covered up like that, while Jenny isnt ..its because back then they still thought it would be offensive to make the Black girl too sexy or for her to upstage the White girl.
They even toyed with an attraction between Jenny and Jesse at one point, but decided that White couldnt be with Black. 😬
AMC needed to have been cancelled long beforehand. It dies long, long before it was cancelled.
