It makes you wonder if the wear and tear was starting to catch up with the Bills? This was the game they won to get to their second of four straight Super Bowls, but it seems like the Broncos softened them up before the big game.

Michael Irvin fumbling in the 1994 NFC Championship game after Merton Hanks hit him. Merton would do the same thing the next year. He would wrap you up as soon as you would catch and "secure" the ball so it was always borderline.
And the 1990 NFC Championship game where either Jerry Rice fumbled or never caugh it AND/OR it was the LAST possession of the game where the Giants WR made an obvious push off to get into FG range.

If Denver's punter, Mike Horan, had kicked field goals that day, the Broncos may have actually had a better shot at winning. The Broncos' placekicker, David Treadwell, was abysmal in 1991. He cost the Broncos a game earlier that season by missing an extra point and field goal in a 17-16 loss to the Los Angeles Raiders in Week 11 at Denver.

    • @RSH089

I never argued that Denver was a better team than Buffalo in 1991. I stated that the Broncos would have won the 1991 AFC Championship Game with a better placekicker, who missed three (3) kicks in that game. The final score would have been 16 to 10 Denver had Treadwell not missed kicks from 47, 42, and 37 yards. If he just made two of those kicks, Denver wins 13 to 10. www.footballdb.com/games/boxscore.html?gid=1992011202.
