My feeling comes back from time to time that I already heard this otherwordly-beautiful music sometime about 50-or-so years ago in the cinema. It may have been a film about Pushkin's life, I guess, or was it the huge-great Russian film about Tsaikovski's life? Anyway, thanks a lot for sharing it and for the joy.
This work is in a single-movement format, with subdivisions indicated. The 4 separate sections were uploaded by pastrychef1985, and a playlist was made, but with the number of ads on YT now, the effect of the total work can be completely lost if the sections are separated. This is the only intact version.
You have to format them into MP3 and add any visuals you like. They have to be made into a Microsoft MovieMaker or similar video. Then you can upload them.
+Johann Rufinatscha You're not out of the woods, yet, Jack. Some labels jealously guard copyright, others not so much. You could upload your videos, only to find them yanked, and get slapped with a strike on your account. Your ability to upload anything more than 15 minutes would be suspended for 6 months, and if you get 3 strikes, deleted altogether. You have to be careful. What label are the Grechaninov symphonies on?
Brooding and lyrical, the beauty of this work is diminished by its' lack of contrasting material and tempi. I became a little impatient with it, but I can certainly forgive Grechaninov for this early "misfire", as he produced five great symphonies and doubtless many other works I have yet to discover.
I want to play this piece and have tried to find the score, but I can't find it. I've even been in contact with the New York library, where many of his works reside, but they couldn't help me either. Anyone who knows where I can find it?
