As a guy who had a Tornado chase me in my house in 2002. Let me say all this talk about rebuilding and paying for stuff by the Federal Government, er you and I that pay taxes.. This is only going to pay for the safety services, debris clearing and other items. If you think Old Fo Joe is talking about rebuilding your home? You got another thing coming. You can duke it out with your insurance companies. In my hood, State Farm and Allstate were the worse to get them to cover fully. I had good luck with Grange back then.
I just went through Hurricane Ida. Was in Katrina too and only received the $2k FEMA check. I filed a claim for Ida and my insurance tried to yank my chain. I got $500 from FEMA, and am trying to find competant contractors and repair people. It takes time between taking care of my health issues and the rest.
When the homes and buildings are rebuilt they needed to have tornado shelters. We need to put tornado shelters in the exsisting buildings Government assistance/tax credits could help with the cost to do this. So many lives could have been saved if only they had a safe and secure place to hide out.
I agree ! After Hurricane Katrina the govt provided subsidies to make various improvements to mitigate future damage. Same thing can be done in the areas ravaged by the tornados. And to improve the tornado prediction and warning systems because many of these victims only had SECONDS to try to get to shelter/a safe place. You can have a shelter that would protect you from the apocalypse. But if you don't have time to get to it......
Thank u so much. We have lost everything we own. It’s especially rough as I’m on chemo and have a feeding tube and central line. I lost all my medical equipment too. But what matters is that my daughter and I as well as my medical service dog and my daughters dog and kitty are all okay. We had a shelter where most here don’t. I’ve been trying to help with lost and injured pets. My ex was so quick to say he canceled the home owners insurance. Didn’t even ask if we were okay. We r trying to focus on helping others too right now. There’s always someone who is worse off then us. Even dog food, cat food, etc. means so much.
Rand Paul's sickeningly hypocritical letter to Joe Biden requesting federal disaster assistance (which is needed and justified). What makes the letter so gross is that Rand Paul VOTED NO for federal disaster relief funds in the wake of hurricanes Sandy, Harvey, and Maria! Which is worse? All of this rebuilding is by a SOCIALIST remedy; simply the tax payers we're the social society. #DollemoreDaily #RandPaul #Hypocrite
He wasn't sure he had "authority" to do something??? The balance of the Country is damn sure he has no legitimate authority. and keep crying Beshear... that'll bring Hope.
He’s not sure he has the authority to do something, but now he found out he does? Hardly inspiring of confidence when your world is suddenly destroyed. “Keep the Faith.” Which Faith is that, Mr. President?
you are right remember the Americans left behind in Afghanistan I absolutely do not trust this man To all of the people who are victims of the tornado I sure hope our government comes through for you I will remember👹
I think it means if your house was destroyed by the tornadoes then any expense that person has for the next 30 days will be covered. For some people, it will be a little and some could be a lot. Funeral expenses, vehicle, food, Gas, clothes. That's how it sounded to me. I could be wrong. Can't forget about the Hospital bills they will be receiving. I'm sure there's a lot of other expenses out there.
I'm wondering what the Federal Govt did with all those FEMA trailers they had for people after Hurricane Katrina ? Or other more modern temporary/semi permanent housing ? If it were up to me I'd say put each and everyone who is homeless in the finest hotel in Kentucky until their homes are rebuilt. Thirty days isn't even a good gesture. It's going to take a wee bit longer than 30 days. Sell a few of the extra jets on standby for the presidential cabinet members. That will replace an entire block
Hope when the towns are rebuilding, they look at other cities for inspiration in improving building codes... concrete block walls with rebar and cement in holes are stronger than just some blocks slathered with a bit of cement.
That's not an option for this city. This city and many others around Hopkins county are low income areas. We don't have the money to make buildings like that, hints why they weren't there in the first place. Prayers....
@@richarizardthomas493 that last word is hinting at something. Maybe if there were less funds going to churches and prayer functions, you’d have money to build stronger homes.
@@richarizardthomas493 Is USA "the greatest nation in history" or a third world dump ? Look at buildings in Syria that were destroyed in bombing during the war. All concrete and thick brick walls. If they could build them like that then the richest country in the world can too.
@@antoniorsoftware yeh that's if they get help. These people make about 20k a year if they are lucky. They must have help to rebuild, this isn't about how rich the country is. Just ask hurricane victims if the government built thier homes back.
We are paying it so thank the US Taxpayer. Not some middle man from DC.
what about sw Louisiana?
Thank you tax paying American citizens
Why does he always have his hands on someone's kid?
Bad time to rebuild with lumber prices so sky high! $8 for a 2 by 4????
Yeah, lumber yards are about to get rich.
@@terrypowers7806 Yes, let's rebuild with wood and do stupid all over again!

You wouldn't need shelters if you used reinforced concrete. Wood and brick houses in tornado areas are a joke.
even if its community storm shelters near each block, with 2way communication with first responders.
Thank the US taxpayer. Oh right my homeowners insurance just went up.
Things are horrible here in Bowling Green. Electric still not restored in many places.
I got power but it's to expensive to is it.
He didn't know he had the authority until Jill googled it for him.
Please walk away
thank you mr president
What an utter joke biden is.
I feel so very sorry for you lot in the states
There is so much help needed. I am sure that each and everyone of us can find a way to help out even if in only a small way. Together we can do a lot.

But how much actually goes to the people themselves, not big business and Gov agencies?
I know
Should ask hurricane victims. Many still waiting.

More of Biden's Build Back Better plan? They kept it to Dawson Springs so they wouldn't hear the let's go Brandon chants.
They had to put the Tesla car in the back of Joe Biden during his speech
I thought it was a Tesla at first, too. It's actually a Chevy Malibu.
