You should do battle of the white! It’s hard to find a good one coat white gel polish, because when u add more than one coat some come out lumpy and bumpy in some small areas
Hiya K, I have bought 31 bottles of diferent black gel, the best truly really black with a huge covering power (in one hand) has been FingerPaints 1 Step Soak Off Gel Polish (Easel Down The Road Gel Polish *white bottle bcoz the dark bottles suck) the only problem , it's the only brand that has evidenced a rather unpleasant odor after 9 months of storage.
Love this! I’m always hesitant when buying different brands for this exact reason. I’m self taught and just do it for fun, and I don’t want to waste money on brands that don’t perform well.
Love these! Please do one of true red polishes and glitter polishes. Neon colors could be fun too, although neon is in my understanding always see through, if you could put gel paints. Thats why it is good to but white layer underneath them first. Love that we see close enough to the nail now and we hear Adam too. Well done.
Could you test Matte top coats? I have found the matte finish just doesn't last the more velvety it is. I have spent quite a lot trying to find a good matte top coat. I always give it a good "rub test" once I have cured it properly.
I think the AL Gel - Pitch Black should get special mention for the way it could be used in designs. I don't know how many times I have seen you mix black and clear to get a transparent black for a design. Now instead of mixing you can just use the AL Gel - Pitch Black. Very def some opportunities for that one.
I have used a few of these products, and as always love these videos! I want you to give UPVOTED another shot I’m not sure what lamp you used but I have run into that same trouble with it myself! It needs a very strong very intense direct lamp I use purple lamp I’m sure blue light would work too. If the lamp is not strong enough because of the high pigment count in the polish it always wrinkles like that. That polish is the BOMB . COM if you have the right lamp with it. I don’t work for them just love there products there can be so so good but touchy . 💗💗💗
I agree, I use nail perfect products too and have that upvoted black ink. I haven't had any problems with it wrinkling, it cures fine in both of my lamps which are both 72 watt I think.. I find once you get the hang of how their products work best they are amazing! 😊

I don’t have any other brands at the moment so I was wondering if you could give any advice as to other gels and if you are allergic to one brand does it mean that it’ll be the same with all of them? I know you don't promote or work with Naio anymore but that's the only brand I use..how would that compare to the blacks mentioned? Serious black is perfect in my opinion but I would happily try others if they were better xx

I have a question is it the manufacturer fault, as I was looking for a manufacturer to make some products of my own and the way I picked it up was they already have samples all you need to do is basically pay for the colours you want and the design of the bottle and tops. I thought you would have a say in what you want the product to be like like you say the viscosity of the polish the pigments n so on. Am I wrong as I'm confused with the way it works with the manufacturer. Please help I really appreciate it thank you.❤
Using the correct lamp for each system might make a huge difference with curing. Lecente is a one coat product and application is different, from what I recall.
Love the reviews please keep them coming . Just a question about the brands you tested do they all have the same curing time? Also I would like to see Modelones if possible. Really great tip to test the black colors in any brand that you want to buy😁👍 It was so fun to see the difference between them 🤩 I like Max'es top coats but all his bottled gels that I have seems to change viscosity after a short period. They do not "age" very well 🙈 Tysmfs love ❤

But if you think about it why would they let such a good asset for their business go, unless they left for a reason! The last 2 presenters have left that business to have to start from scratch, they wouldn’t do that unless there was a good reason! If 2 people left maybe there’s something going on there that they didn’t want to have to deal with anymore, specially as both presenters will not have anything to do with that business anymore, but that’s my impression after watching nail channels for over 10 years.

Have you had any experience with Kiara Sky Black? I have a bottle that will NOT cure. It’s the strangest thing I’ve seen. Typically I enjoy their products but this is just weird.
It's so hard to tell as well with they say it's best to have their uv led lamp ? Or does that not really matter and they say that to make you buy their own brand lamp ?

Fun idea for a nail art video if you haven’t done it already or tried it before - do chunky holographic glitter in a nail design (works best with the hexagonal big silver glitters) and then rub a chrome powder over the nail at the end. Accidentally happened on it the other day - looks amazing with rose gold or silver chrome 💿😄 Light hits it just right and you’ll see the glitter and holo beneath like a special effect. Looks like retro holographic stickers lol.

This is a very interesting video. I’ve enjoyed it. Thank you so much. The 6th nail you did that wrinkled I actually love the dried texture of it. It makes me think of the wrinkled leather look. With a few bits of gold foil on it would make it absolutely perfect. Xxx
The problem would be that it only happens when it wasn't cured all the way though and you can't cure black again because the light won't go through to the bottom of the black layer, Which means it won't stay on.
@@noneya1691 I agree ☺️ it would just smudge and potentially just roll off. Top coats only work as they should if the surface underneath is cured properly (aka, it’s “hard”). Top coating bits of uncured gel polish is like putting cling film/plastic wrap directly on top of custard 😝 it’ll just slide around underneath and if pressure is applied from the top, the edges are exposed and the whole thing will be compromised.
I always start working on the thumb first and they go one by one in the lamp; while working on the other fingers the hand goes in a normal position in the lamp and this way I absolutely never had problems with curing with any nail.
Can you do this with brands that more home users use? Madam Glam, Beetles, Modelones, UR Sugar, Rosalind, ASP, Gelish, Kiara Sky, etc. I’m loving this series btw.
Those are mostly cheaper brands and I worry that Chinese knockoffs aren’t as properly tested as professional brands are! Pls be careful of allergies when DIYing, I’ve noticed it’s quite common on comment threads to see girls getting allergies from incorrectly applying products 😱

It may be wonderful, but not at all practical for someone just wanting to paint their nails at home to save even more money. Beauty shouldn’t have to be expensive.
Never knew some may shrink and good to know the wrinkles are probably due not properly cure, was about to throw away a really pretty color because it gets wrinkly. Now I have hope, lol
You could try Simplynailogical's black polish. It is supposed to be completely opaque in just "one coat" (that is the name of the black polish 😁). It would be nice to see how it compares against other brands
You would have to compare it to other regular polishes though, as these are all gel polishes. Gel vs lacquer could be a good shout, but the results of factors that kirsty was testing today would differ based on the type of polish.
I think that maybe there was a little bit of oil or something on the tip that you used on the enailcouture one as I have that same gel polish and I don’t get any shrinkage with mine. And especially with it happening in just that one spot. Leads me to think that’s what is what caused that to happen. I am loving this series. Personally I would put enailcouture at no#1 because one I don’t get the shrinkage and two I think a little bit more thought has gone into the packaging as well. (I know this was solely based on just the quality of the product, I’m just adding a point on for the packaging as well lol) So just my opinion but I think enailcouture was 1st place then the other two were 2nd and 3rd. Please could you do the whites next. (Which you probably are doing) but Max’s white gel polish is flipping amazing as well. So really wanna see where it comes in your line up. I have almost all of Max’s products as they truly are amazing products. His acrylics are stunning and so nice to work with. And I love the smell of his monomer as well. Sending love from Wakey to Stokey lol can’t wait to get on a course with you seen as your so close to me. I’ve only been able to do online ones due to the pandemic but really hoping I can get on a course in person soon. Also Every time you post on Instagram I’m like. Is this the post where she tell us that she is finally dropping her own nail products. If I was trying that I would do two coats of a high quality top coat and then go in with a soft buffer and buff the matte in where I wanted it.

I think that maybe there was a little bit of oil or something on the tip that you used on the enailcouture one as I have that same gel polish and I don’t get any shrinkage with mine. And especially with it happening in just that one spot. Leads me to think that’s what is what caused that to happen.
I am loving this series. Personally I would put enailcouture at no#1 because one I don’t get the shrinkage and two I think a little bit more thought has gone into the packaging as well. (I know this was solely based on just the quality of the product, I’m just adding a point on for the packaging as well lol)
So just my opinion but I think enailcouture was 1st place then the other two were 2nd and 3rd.
Please could you do the whites next. (Which you probably are doing) but Max’s white gel polish is flipping amazing as well. So really wanna see where it comes in your line up.
I have almost all of Max’s products as they truly are amazing products. His acrylics are stunning and so nice to work with. And I love the smell of his monomer as well. Sending love from Wakey to Stokey lol can’t wait to get on a course with you seen as your so close to me. I’ve only been able to do online ones due to the pandemic but really hoping I can get on a course in person soon.
Also Every time you post on Instagram I’m like. Is this the post where she tell us that she is finally dropping her own nail products. I always look at your gel polish bottles in your background in every video thinking ugh I can’t wait to own them. Haha. Xx (wow this got long real fast. Lol sorry)
