Boosters have definitely caught my interest. Looking forward to seeing your review on them. I use Instincts for outdoor and moonboard but my go to for comfort and great performance is the Vapours. Such a great shoe.
Oooo I think you'll like then then!!!
I think you’ll like them as well! - just tried them and you get a lot more ‘feel’ then the VSR
@@kaskow21 Good to know. I shall definitely keep a look out for them.
Really excited to see how the Veloce performs. I've been seeing it more and more at the walls I go to. The "climbing sock" feeling is pretty much what I get from the Furia Airs, my God, they are amazing for almost everything.
Really good on volumes, heel not optimal
@@AnnaDavey You mean the Veloces or the Furia Air I was referring to? :D
@@aries_9130 Veloce...but it's likey cause they're too big 😅
@@AnnaDavey I see, thanks!
I like the look of the Veloce's can't wait to see them on the wall
Pretty cool!
I think the VSR is an amazing shoe! Well worth it
Yeah they look super sleek
I am currently using the Veloce and i agree with you the sizing is a little bigger i wish i had gotten a smaller shoe but in my experience, they are super good though for the long climbing sessions can't wait to see your review on them all!
I know right 😓 annoying noone told me
I'm still super happy with them and can't wait to wear these out so I can get some more!
Just ordered a pair of Drago LVs and this video popped up. Really hope the heel will fit perfectly for me now. Went slightly smaller so from 1.5 eu to 2 eu down so I hope I didn't go too small, it's gonna be interesting once they come in.
Oooo let me know how they go!!!
@@AnnaDavey climbed my first session in them yesterday and they feel just like old Dragos but fit my foot perfectly now. So if you have the issue of the heel being slightly too big it might be a good idea to give the LVs a try!
@@sav7458 Awesome, thanks for letting me know!! I'm trying to get my hands on some ❤️🙏
Have they came in?
Just bought my first pair of scarpas as gym had a 50.00 sale. Haven't tried them yet though. I like to break them in by using shoe trees to stretch it's much less painful 🤙🏻😼
Does this still keep them really snug to the feet after stretching?
The only reason I ask is breaking them in is awful, but it means it only stretches where it needs to I guess.
@@razzanator06 my shoe trees have little plastic nubs that you can place on them so I do that to best match shape of my foot. So far I'm very happy with the result. Very snug still. My main problem is the toe box is too thin usually as my middle toes are longer than big toe so I need to stretch the box vertically and a little horizontally in the middle otherwise very painful to break in. Seems like most shoes are designed for foot shape where your big toe is longest toe. I would try it on a cheap pair of shoes first till you get it dialed in 😼
@@metcaldm That sounds like a solid system to me! I'm quite lucky in that I tend to love my Tenayas which have pretty much no break in period, and dear lord I don't miss breaking tight shoes in.
50!!! For what model! That's a bargain!
@@AnnaDavey Force V
As far as i know the only difference between the Instinct Vs and VSR is the rubber. VS is using Vibram Edge and the VSR is using Vibram Grip. Maybe that's what people refer to as "softer", even if the shoe itself is the same stiffness
Maybe!
6:26 is my favorite noise of yours as of yet!! 😂😂💪💪💪🔥🔥🔥
lol xx
i got the Dragos a month ago and i like them the best of all shoes i had before.
Agreed!
As I heavier guy - I’m a real big fan of the VSR...they’re basically the drago for my size 😂
I started on a soft-ish beginners shoe 1.5 years ago, and when looking to upgrade I got the Instinct VS (womens) but like you described with my 50kg they were way too stiff 😅. Just ordered the Drago LV and Veloces to try, calculating my sizing from yours (half size down from VS for Drago and full size down from VS for Veloce). Fingers crossed 🤞 they'll feel good 😁. Thanks for this vid! 🤟
You'll have to let me know how the LV Drago's are 🤩🤩
Great vid! The Instinct Lace and VS-R do fit my wide and square forefoot because they're not overly asymmetric or pointy. Like you, Anna, I feel the bagginess of the heel (the Mad Rock Drone has a nice narrow heel but the rest of the shoe is meh) though and being a little dude (52 kg) I'd like some more squishiness to get more rubber down onto the plastic holds. If the VS-R fits like a glove do you reckon the Booster would be worth a shot? (street size 41; Instinct size 39.5; Booster 39.5 for a comfy fit of 39 for 'sending fit'). Look forward to getting your thoughts on these ones! And good luck from an Australian who's discovered climbing while living in Europe. If I return to Oz I'd like to see if people are getting into it :)
Booster would be perfect! Much narrower heel and great sensitivity throughout, even if you're light! Yes 39 would be a sending fit, they won't stretch much.
Tried Veloce and they are amazing. Too bad they don't feet my long narrow feet... They are really wide, even womens version. I hope Scarpa will make an LV version.
LV Drago is being release everywhere right now. Those look amazing!
Definetly I'll try them. But I'll prefer Veloces since I have square toes and Dragos are mucho more asymetric and downturned than Veloce ;)
@@cesartorre9236I see! They seem to be very popular so perhaps there will be a LV version!
Answer from the Scarpa rep is it's unlikely there will be a LV Veloce sorry :(
Thanks so much for asking Scarpa!. I need to try other models... maybe Furia air. I'd like something soft and confortable for indoor climbing.
Really like the Furia S, these were my first proper shoes after some cheap beginner shoes. Recently had them resoled for $40 so they're good to go for another couple months.
Oh that's pretty good!! I've never resoled any, probably should!
The rubber in the veloce is actually thicker than then the rubber on the Furia or Drago. So they do tend to last surprisingly long !
I was actually just speculating about that yesterday! Noticing the difference in the amount of rubber as I'm wearing them 🙂
in your second video you didnt mention your opinion about the booster.
what is the differance between the drago and booster
I don't wear the Booster so can't give my opinion. They're too stiff for me
Have you ever tried the VSRs?
Yes they're in this video.....
Am literally holding them in the thumbnail 😅
Aren't those the womens instinct vs?
@@jtube3878 Low Volume VSR.
@@jtube3878 And yes I've had the dark blue (mens) VSR and the orange VS. They're not good for me, but Tom loves them all! I just prefer soft shoes.
hi guys! need help! im looking to purchase the scarpa drago
i measured my foot to be 26 cm in length, according to the sizing chart by scarpa, i should get size EU 40.5 - 41, will size 40.5 fit me perfect?
There's many other things to consider (foot shape etc) to be safe, go to a gym and just try them on
I have the veloce shoes
Good hey? :)
Ye they are really good for toe hooks
Thanks for this review! I have a narrow heel and foot and have yet to find a shoe that fits perfectly. There is no Scarpa outlet near me where I can try on numerous shoes. Please compare the heel fit of the Boosters to your other shoes!
Much narrower for me then the VSR. 💪
people should keep in mind that Anna is a light weight climber. So a "soft" drago is probably too soft for normal or more heavy people. For me (77kg) I would never choose these models unless the instinct vr which i consider a rather soft shoe model. Especially climbing on vertical limestone quite often I tend to prefer stiffer shoes (keeping it scarpa here: boostic/vapor lace) which are confy when you resole them instead of buying a new model every time. But I guess people have to find out for themselves. I like to mention that different shoe models fit different types of feet: narrow(drago/furia), normal(boostic), wide(instinct) and also different toe form like greek(instinct), egyptian(drago/furia/boostic) or roman(veloce). A good climbing store will probably know best and help you find your shoe. Or you can check out scarpas spreadsheet on their homepage when you look for shoe models
Absolutely, that's why we put Tom's shoes in by comparison and he's 87kg. Drago's are actually stiff for me :P
I really only do crack/offwidth, dabble in some slab, so I have grandstones and pink/white anasazis. Been thinking about getting a shoe more for bouldering and this was extremely helpful. Do you think they will ever make the furia or other softer shoes in a size 48-50?
I can ask the rep and find out 🤗
@@AnnaDavey Thank you, that’s extremely kind. Would it be correct to say that’s ace? Rusty on my slang 😅
@@cjmorgani3642 Yep that's works just fine 🤗😂
So apparently it's very unlikely soft shoes will come in really large sizes. This is based on the assumption that if your foot is 46+ you're probably pretty tall, therefore heavier and thus won't need 'softer' shoes. Tom is 87kg and simply can't wear a Drago or Furia and his force through the shoe makes them useless, to him a VSR is actually soft. Me with my 50kg force, I need something really soft to get weight thorough my toe. Does that make sense? Sorry :(
That that makes sense. I’ve got about 5kg on Tom and it looks like they have the VS in 48-50 so looks like a possible good choice. Very helpful explanation, no need to be sorry. Thanks again for looking into it.
Love handles is when chub hangs over your pants, what do you call it when abs hang over your pants?
Hate handles ? :p
💥💥💥QUESTION ?What do you think of the Scarpa Furia Air?
Love them. You will notice in most of my recent videos I'm wearing them :) They aren't so good if you're not super light though. I'd say anyone over 70kg would get too much sensitivity through them.
Have you tested the newest Drago LV? If so, is the Furia S still your Favorite?
Yes, it doesn't differ from the regular Drago IMO. Still Furia S and Air for my favourite
Hey Anna are you going to review the Furia air?
Maybe the brand new Air since the old one is discontinued 🙂
@@AnnaDavey really? I didn’t know that
@@AnnaDavey are they the same shoe/color? The ones that you were wearing when your toe was messed up? Are those the new or old iteration?
@@ABSVabeautifulsunsetvlog 🤣🤣 Nope, that was the Furia S. And that was the fault of humidity and down sizing too much more than anything
@@AnnaDavey I mean when you broke your big toe and were wearing the blue furia air
What about the chimeras?
I haven't tried them as I hate laces :o
You should talk a little about your foot shape (width of toe box, size of heel, toe length) and how the different shoes feel on your foot. I have a super wide toe box and super small heel, so very few shoe models work for me. I'm guessing your foot dimensions are pretty normal?
I don't even know what my feet are 😅 Have never had any issues with shoes
@@AnnaDavey haha you should start looking at people's feet. Invite your mates to sit around and try on different shoes and see how different people's feet are shaped
@@nusnek I really hate feet though 😅
@@AnnaDavey haha I'm not asking you to kiss or touch them!
@@nusnek 😅😅 I'll find out for you!!
What u guys think about vapor v
Not for us, it's very much a first time/beginner show. I'm sure it would be great for grades V4 and under ❣️
@@AnnaDavey got it thank u, i climb diferent styles, tradicional and etc so i bought one and really like it, precise and comfortable, but i still dont do hard boulder problems
about the sizing aspect i can confirm that the veloce (got these in size 42 while wearing 44 in most street shoes) is somewhat larger than furia or drago (tested both of the latter the same day and found that 42.5 felt just as tight but still more painful to wear due to more/stiffer rubber over the toe section). so if i had decided to buy one of the latter I'd have taken a 43 instead.
it's definitely up to pain tolerance and foot shape. I'm 3 street sizes down pretty comfortably :) They will stretch a bit FYI.
sup Anna
Are you sponsored by Scarpa?
Yeh she is
Not an issue, just like to know. Do like the look of the white ones near the end.
I am yes.
I’m not and I think the VSR are the way to go for a perfect all round shoe (especially if you’re a heavier guy)...otherwise, I think the Booster outdoes the drago
@@kaskow21 got myself a pair of the Voloce for Chrimbo. Only got to try them twice before (yet another) lockdown. Really impressed to date. Very soft and good on volumes/slabs/vertical stuff. Good sticky rubber. Slightly strange to box shape but probably an advantage for long sessions. Agree it is a very nice shoe.
