What's your definition of being a Christian?
Thank you, Alfa House, for providing the platform for me. My message is harsh - thus not TV popularity material. Keep on keeping on.
Thank you for this content, but for the sake of objectivity, if you going to title your post "African Spirituality vs Christianity', it would be good to hear from both sides. Hopefully we get to hear a response that presents more than a colonial representation of christianity.
@@joshuamadalitsochiundiza8638 Maybe you have a point. But I am wondering which representation of Christianity is not colonial in Afrika? Except for Ethiopia, where Christianity is also not indigenous, by the way: Acts 8: 26 - 40. It is an externally infused ideology. Tell me of an Afrikan community that was christian in 10 BCE? In 476 at the fall of the Roman Empire? Or of an Afrikan community where France, Britain, Portugal, Italy, and Spain, did not infuse Christianity into the colonial philosophy. Are you up for an interview, to educate us on the Non-Colonial Christianity, to bring the balance? It would be interesting to learn.
@@DrKhanyiLitchfieldTshabalala Siyabonga Mama Tshabalala for your response.
I am in agreement to some extent on your point of external infusion of Christianity, but my point dwells ultimately on the African response to Christianity, the philosophical benchmark being African realism, where Africa has always had a response to external infusions, whether forced or of our free will. Christianity is recent in the context of African history, but its adoption and adaption locates that premise of African realism that is the crux of Africa's response to Christianity. This is manifested by individuals like Emperor Ezana, Prophetess Kimpa Vita, Simon Kimbangu, St Augustine of Hippo, Johanne Marange etc. Or the unspoken Abba Mikael who had a brief but great influence on reformer Martin luther.
I wouldnt mind an interview, I am keen to learn. Asante sana for your response, I am also your student, with many questions.
As a Hindu, I am so happy for Africans who are rising out of xtianity and going back to your roots and african spirituality. ❤🙏
The need to detoxify from Christianity is NO joke.

Wonderful
Absolutely!❤
This conversation needs to go viral
that would be great, we thought it was a very interesting lecture, but unfortunately there are few views
unfortunately knowledge is not for the masses. thats why wise people are few. but it is upon us to direct this message to the right people.
It won't, South Africans have been HIGHLY COLONIZED and don't care about knowing themselves.
* not viral but plugged into the right ones.
You’re right. It needs to go viral, so that Africans don’t fall into the trap. Accepting African spirituality implies, denying, rejecting Jesus Christ. She also wants us to believe that hell/heaven do not exist. NO THANK YOU.
I stopped going to church 3 years ago and that was the best decision ever
God never said go to church acts 7v48. Hebrews 9v11. Acts 17v24, the truth is we are the church,1corinthians 3v16, we are the temple,

Absolutely, education is key to progress!
I love everything abt u mama! From the content to your african beeds! I am always sad when African parents living in babylon pretend to forget their mother tongues. In germany, where i live they will not speak swahili to their kids. They'd rather adress them in broken deutsch. Sad sad!
Totally agree.
Well said, African Queen. I trust many Africans will take this seriously and be strong enough to detox from religion.
Thank you for your kind words, I appreciate your support!
If not Jesus, then who?
Here in Tobago everything the mzungu gave us thru slavery was bad for us. Everything. But many of us still hold on to their religion and is prepared to die defending it.
GRENADA 🇬🇩 HERE…I NEVER TRUSTED ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE…I LEFT RELIGION YEARS AGO AND EMBRACED SPIRITUALITY
It is not just Tobago. It is both the diaspora and the continent herself. It is almost like we have been bewitched. We even kill each other about Islam or Christianity. Now we have a faction that is breeching Christianity and Judaism. My analysis has always come to the same conclusion = decolonisation or the need for a cultural revolution. Europe went through it in Rennaissance, India has had one, China, Malysia, America, Japan.... But no, we want to berate our spirituality, culture, and languages, and hope to rise.
@@SPICEMAN-473 I wish all my people can come to that kairos moment. We are largely initiated into religion without our permission. I mean I was born into a Catholic family, thus baptised as a baby, names after Catholic Italian people, encouraged to respect Latin, etc. But that was my parents! Not me! Through my journey in life, I had to develop into me.... I ditched my colonial religious names, and I gave myself the name, Khanyisile. A past perfect tense meaning, the one who has lighted, or brought light. It fits in with my ancestral gift of knowledge.
It’s no different here in the USA. The majority of Black Americans are the same way. But alot of us are starting to wake up.
But Africans had slavery they had Christianity
Honestly, I respect this woman in the highest regard, I left Christianity when I was 15 and never looked back. I'm 29 now and the journey of going within and becoming spiritual was and will forever be the best decision I've ever made. The detoxing process from Christianity to spiritualism is no joke.... everything this woman has spoken about is so true, throughout the whole video I was agreeing with everything she said.
10yrs clean..no church... blessed beyond measures...AFRIKA AWAKE
I love African Spirituality
I second that...
"I did English as a language but not as a medium of instruction" - so powerful
Been doing and still doing research on the origins of Christianity and Africa…I left the religion recently for so many reasons because of most of what she is saying. People are afraid to do research and people are still afraid to be wrong.
There's an article that might aid your research entitled: "Here's What No One Told You About Africa's Ancient Christian History" by Laura M. Quainoo
Religion. The greatest tool ever used on poor humans psyche.
If we survive it will be because we have found this woman's wisdom within a critical number of us.
Humble correction: In Nguni culture (Zulu, Xhosa, Ndebele, and Swati), we say, Thokoza! Or Camagu! Meaning we give praise to the ancestors, the owners of the wisdom and the knowledge. On my own, i am just a Catholic-raised and terrorised woman whose crucible was more Latin, Italian and English. I cannot thank my ancestors enough for finding me.
Very interesting interview. I have believed in Christ for a long time. I understand her views but I think she is leaving out the fact that the scriptures were prominent in Ethiopia long before colonisation. People knew the Word long before these events occurred. Catholicism alone does not sum up the message of Jesus. And for the record, I am in full support of the idea that Jesus himself was not a white man. Point is, the words of scripture have been used to control and divide not only Africa, but the entire world, something that Jesus(Yeshua) would not want. Race itself is a false term created to divide. We are one race, one people, the HUMAN race. Humanity UNITE. God bless you all. Shalom to all cultures, all creeds, all nations former and lasting.
Many Christians love to reference Ethiopian Christianity when they cannot dispute the truth of spiritually as the way forward. Yes Ethiopian Christianity was around first however what is practised on mass globally is the adulterated European version of it with lies throughout
And certainly what was before the construction of this adulterated form was the Intuitive and creative "God-reflective" nature to assist us to filter right and wrong/love and no love. The prescription makes us forget and follow without listening to the internal God direction. It has also lead to us denying our natural ties with ancestors which all other nations respect.
Ethiopia is only one country, so what if christianity was in one country in Africa?
The father of Ethiopian Christianity is not African . His name is Fermentius
There was the Coptic church and Ethiopian church before the catholics. However these churches were formed through the Greeks not by africans. The kushite king at the time Ezana made his kingdom into a Christian kingdom after his conversion by two Caucasians either of greek or turkish origin who had come from Egypt. So all the subjects of that kingdom had no choice but to abide by the king. Those who denied it eg the oromo are still non christianized africans.
I AM almost in tears to see all of the viewers in the comments who have been through what I have been through as one who had come to terms that the christian jezuzy stuff was not working for me!!! Decided to let it go and live my Most beautifull rich and illustrious indigenous Afrakhan ancestral culture and spirituality. The more I began to search for my Afrakhan cultural and spiritual ancestry heritage and birthrights within me and me within it!!! I found Peace I found home and i found me!!! Which led me to a truly heart warming beautifull relationship with The DIVINE. ASE’🖤❤️💛💚👑✨🙏🏾✨

Absolutely love uMa Khanyile.
As a holder of a Masters Theological degree, I truly love how uDr Khanyile is trying to stretch the mind of Africans. The religion of Christianity in Africa is certainly Eurocentric & even the concept of Easter is problematic. We need to decolonize Education & Culture & love ourselves as Africans. Siyabonga Ma.
Is the room for consideration of the fact that Christianity was in Africa (Ethiopian Orthodox) before it existed in Europe. Then again, one can argue is the Christianity that is predominant is the one introduced by Europeans
Camagu! Thokoza!

We need woke academicians. We need woke PhD holders; we need woke Profs. But most of all, we need woke students. Some people's unconscious incompetence (they do not know that they do not know) is so deep that the truth makes them attack the truth bearer. They confront the truth with such ferocious anger, that it flies above their heads.
This is words from above ashered by the ancestors through the mouth of Dr Tshabalala.

I got my life back, too! Thank you so much, Doc. I love you so, so much!
I love African spirituality. I think it's the best spirituality on Earth. We do not have any one between us and our Creator. You don't need to pass or go through somebody's name to get to Our Source. I tried all religions including Christianity nothing surpasses African Spirituality. I'm happy that I'm practicing something that my ancestors believed in.
And we do not evangelise, we believe the truth is inside you, that your own ancestors will find you and enlighten you - if you heed their call. We also do not have heaven or hell. I do good because it is common sense to be good to other humans, it is ubuntu, and I am umuntu, and they are abantu. Not because I fear to go to some lake of everlasting fire.
@@DrKhanyiLitchfieldTshabalala How do you know you’re doing good? Where does your common sense come from? Why bother doing good if there’s no heaven or hell?
Who are you referring to when you say “we” do not have heaven/hell?

Thank u South African we are fortunate to have wake people & feel luck to be placed in SA
South african isn't the only country where spirituality is nor considered as witchcraft. You also have Benin
@@africaine4889 no one said any thing about any country we are supporting our mother as a country where women are respected and acknoledge no one spoke of any country & this is not a competition
But we are also slowly sliding and receding to the mediocrity that is rampant in this continet: where Afrikan Spirituality is synonymous with witchcraft, where only Islam or Christianity can officiate over the opening of Parliament, where the Afrikan language or mother tongue ends either in primary school or junior secondary. I mean in some Afrikan countries, jacket and tie is the only permissible attire in Parliament. We are also going there, if we do not stand up and defend the little traces that remain of our BEING. Neocolonialism, is by nature, an anathema to ubuntu, to our culture and spirituality. It is a war - and I do not think we are conscious as Afrikans in SA, that we are at war.
@@africaine4889 the fact remains though: it’s still witchcraft. It doesn’t matter if they consider it as such or not.

We need more sisters and brothers like her to talk more about the Africa Spirituality so as to reeducate us on it. We did lose many of our beliefs due to colonization. Thank God for social media we are getting better and more informed about the situation. We know today that the earlier colonizers were killers and liars. They distorted the narrative to potray their thoughts and actions. Our Tongues may differ across Africa but the Spirituality across the continent is the same. The Europeans copied and whitewashed our beliefs to be theirs.
Thank God for the new awakening.
Thank you for this great content. We must proudly go back to true Africanity.
I want to share this video with everyone I know. As a Canadian born Jamaican, I struggle to know myself. My "Jamaican" culture is a mix of African slavery and British colonization. Jamaica’s national dish (ackee and salt fish) comes from West Africa (ackee) and Britain (salted cod). I struggle to connect with my family because I am awake and question everything about our culture. Jamaicans, especially my family are so lost in Christianity they don’t understand what I see and know. They need something to believe in without understanding their power is within. I needed the reminder that spirituality comes from within not a "high priestess" or other head. Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you for sharing your personal journey. It's important to reflect on our roots and beliefs to find our true selves.
Jamaicans for starters many are a blend of West & East African take a closer look hat Uganda & Kenya. Do you ancestry DNA
How will your spirit transition from here to heaven without the power of holy spirit. Logical God is the one i will meet not a familiar spirit. If I decide not to accept jc as my savior will learning my heritage, which exempt me from God wrath. I am .... Great i Am .... we our in trouble. Thank God for who he is because he knew sent us our lord savior. Just asking question nothing more because I have accepted, will not follow a stranger voice.

I identify with all that this SeeStar says. I too always asked questions a lot in church got me into trouble a lot, eventually I left & yes it was like going through a messy divorce took 2yrs before I stopped saying I was 7 day Adventist & 3yrs to stop saying I was christian. The brainwashing was very deep & embracing African Spirituality is what helped me remain liberated. I have a much stronger & closer relationship with my Ancestors & my guides they help me a lot. I am aware of their presence every waking hour.
Me too. Stay strong
We need to listen to our true leaders like this,we need brain Training in Africa or Globally

Really enjoying this. I practiced Christianity for many years until God provided me with an awakening. I now pay attention to the synchronicities that exist. God will always make Himself and His message clear to those whose spirits are awake. I’ve learned that there are many truths in many spiritual practices and it’s ok for me to adopt what resonates with my journey.
This is really beautiful. Every time I listen to her there's just so much knowledge.

Everything she said I agree with. From politics to women not showing their own hair. I totally agree, and of course what she said about the patriarchy is a system, and spirituality is about balance. I've stopped going to church since covid and I'm still in the midst of my spiritual learning.
