Yep. I know ALL about his weird religious views on Abortion, LGBT and dinosaurs- nasty ,stupid and medieval. But, I've yet to hear his 'deeply held' religious views on Divorce and Adultery. In particular his views on Trump, Boebert, MTG and his Own Parents all being divorced at least once and ALL of whom have committed adultery? Why hasn't he condemned them to hell as well? He's been allowed to spout his religious views and condemn so many other people he deems sinful, but NEVER has a reporter asked him: "Do adulterers and divorcees go to hell as well? Are your parents sinners? Is Trump an Adulterer? Does the bible condone grabbing a woman by the pussy? Is the Earth 7,000 years old? Is groping in public allowed in the bible? Etc etc. There are so many legitimate reasons to challenge his religion, but it never happens. Thank you ladies for an intelligent conversation. I just want to share that my later father, who was 86 years old in 2016, called me in tears one day. I had been raised Catholic but was no longer practicing, but my parents both remained very strict Catholics until they passed. However, over the years we had many conversations about the Catholic faith and what we agreed and disagreed with. My father was very conscious of social justice issues and concerns like women's rights, humane immigration laws, providing health care and fair wages and, well, you get it. Anyway, the day he called he said he didn't know who to vote for. I asked him why. He said his Catholic Priest told the entire parish that they were required by the law of God and the Church to vote for Donald Trump because of "gays and abortion." He was so tormented because he lived his whole life seeing the Priest in his church as someone who spoke for God. I tried to get him to vote with his own heart, but he said he got the impression that voting for someone else would be a "mortal sin" and he would be condemned. Needless to say, I was furious. For a man who lived his entire life as a good man...a decent man, with a heart and ability to think for himself to have that taken from him by some person playing God just infuriated me. He was so tormented by this, and he did not deserve that. I do not think these so called "Christians/Catholics" have any clue the kind of damage they do to people when they preach this garbage to people. Thanks for listening.

No, though I do agree with some conservative ideas of the past, I feel as if the Republican party is dead right now. I plan to vote blue across-the-board in 2024 because it seems as if the Democrats are the only ones with any kind of policy that makes sense. As an example, there is a real problem with climate change. I know this because everybody in my town ran from a wildfire back in 2020. We are still experiencing PTSD from it. In addition to that we are dealing with “heat domes” that have affected us all. I am tired of the climate denial on the far right. It’s ridiculous and stupid. Hopefully, when things become more sensible, there can be more dialogue and compromise. But as it stands right now, I don’t see that happening. Thank you for asking.

In the past Christians were denying that Dinosaurs existed. I asked my Christian uncle one time about dinosaurs because the earth is millions of years old and so are Dinosaurs. According to the bible the earth is only around 10,000 years old. So my uncle told me that dinosaurs were demons and creatures that god had to get rid of in order for humans to live on earth. Now all of the sudden since Christians cannot deny the existence of dinosaurs they are now saying that dinosaurs were on the ark with Noah. No one on the Ark would be alive if that were the case. I think once the Millenials and Gen Z start taking over politically you will see the end of this crap. Republicans have only around 20 to 25% from those two age groups. Also, within that demographic believe in organized religion or even a god is very low and going down every year. Sadly, my generation, the Xers, it's about a 50/50 split. That's why we need to get younger people into political office to balance out the mental cases like Mike Johnson from my generation.

It can, but generally it's membership of new minority sects that correlates with more mental illness. Regular participation in the activities of any established mainstream Christian denomination correlates with a lower incidence of mental illness than in the population as a whole (sorry fellow atheists, that's the way it is). But, But, - in the US more and more evangelicals are members of independent/near independent congregations. I'd be interested to know if membership of these work out more like new sects or more like mainstream denominations when it comes to levels of mental illness. Each of these congregations maybe functions as sect? Any statistics out there?

The easiest way to discredit the Creationist Museum, as an experienced project manager, I calculated the number of working days that they took to build their Arc using modern tools and hundreds of volunteers. In the Bible Noah and his small Family would have taken hundreds of years to build an Arc of the size claimed. Not to say how did they move all these huge timbers with about 20 people and very simple hand tools. The animals could not have been collected from all around the world, so I suppose we are to believe they just got a message and walked tens of thousands of miles, navigating perfectly to arrive just on time. Thank you ladies for an intelligent conversation. I just want to share that my later father, who was 86 years old in 2016, called me in tears one day. I had been raised Catholic but was no longer practicing, but my parents both remained very strict Catholics until they passed. However, over the years we had many conversations about the Catholic faith and what we agreed and disagreed with. My father was very conscious of social justice issues and concerns like women's rights, humane immigration laws, providing health care and fair wages and, well, you get it. Anyway, the day he called he said he didn't know who to vote for. I asked him why. He said his Catholic Priest told the entire parish that they were required by the law of God and the Church to vote for Donald Trump because of "gays and abortion." He was so tormented because he lived his whole life seeing the Priest in his church as someone who spoke for God. I tried to get him to vote with his own heart, but he said he got the impression that voting for someone else would be a "mortal sin" and he would be condemned. Needless to say, I was furious. For a man who lived his entire life as a good man...a decent man, with a heart and ability to think for himself to have that taken from him by some person playing God just infuriated me. He was so tormented by this, and he did not deserve that. I do not think these so called "Christians/Catholics" have any clue the kind of damage they do to people when they preach this garbage to people. Thanks for listening.

Nearly everybody in my church disagrees with the mega Christian nationalist agenda. I’m sure there are some older folks that kind of go along with it but I haven’t heard from them. It really is very disturbing that this movement is taking hold and messing with my faith.

No, though I do agree with some conservative ideas of the past, I feel as if the Republican party is dead right now. I plan to vote blue across-the-board in 2024 because it seems as if the Democrats are the only ones with any kind of policy that makes sense. As an example, there is a real problem with climate change. I know this because everybody in my town ran from a wildfire back in 2020. We are still experiencing PTSD from it. In addition to that we are dealing with “heat domes” that have affected us all. I am tired of the climate denial on the far right. It’s ridiculous and stupid. Hopefully, when things become more sensible, there can be more dialogue and compromise. But as it stands right now, I don’t see that happening. Thank you for asking.

In the past Christians were denying that Dinosaurs existed. I asked my Christian uncle one time about dinosaurs because the earth is millions of years old and so are Dinosaurs. According to the bible the earth is only around 10,000 years old. So my uncle told me that dinosaurs were demons and creatures that god had to get rid of in order for humans to live on earth. Now all of the sudden since Christians cannot deny the existence of dinosaurs they are now saying that dinosaurs were on the ark with Noah. No one on the Ark would be alive if that were the case. These people including Mike the nut case are morons. No God ho love his creations would damn them to death and fire and eternal torture if they don't believe in him.

I think once the Millenials and Gen Z start taking over politically you will see the end of this crap. Republicans have only around 20 to 25% from those two age groups. Also, within that demographic believe in organized religion or even a god is very low and going down every year. Sadly, my generation, the Xers, it's about a 50/50 split. That's why we need to get younger people into political office to balance out the mental cases like Mike Johnson from my generation.

It can, but generally it's membership of new minority sects that correlates with more mental illness. Regular participation in the activities of any established mainstream Christian denomination correlates with a lower incidence of mental illness than in the population as a whole (sorry fellow atheists, that's the way it is).
But, But, - in the US more and more evangelicals are members of independent/near independent congregations. I'd be interested to know if membership of these work out more like new sects or more like mainstream denominations when it comes to levels of mental illness. Each of these congregations maybe functions as sect? Any statistics out there?

The easiest way to discredit the Creationist Museum, as an experienced project manager, I calculated the number of working days that they took to build their Arc using modern tools and hundreds of volunteers. In the Bible Noah and his small Family would have taken hundreds of years to build an Arc of the size claimed. Not to say how did they move all these huge timbers with about 20 people and very simple hand tools.
The animals could not have been collected from all around the world, so I suppose we are to believe they just got a message and walked tens of thousands of miles, navigating perfectly to arrive just on time. A work of fiction.
My wife has become a Christian fundamentalist. In her belief the world is only 4000 to 6000 years old. Nuts! She also gets onboard with all conspiracy modern theories and links them to the Bible, amazing how her God and Church leaders have destroyed our marriage. He must be such a power for good?
