One can make shadows for shikadai anytime he wants to
One can use wind style like temari
And their chouji is smarter
I find they're much more balanced too and bounce off one another better. Chocho and Sai are less distracted than choji and Ino. Inojin has more at his disposal other than close combat and mind transfer compared to Ino at this age. And Chocho's definitely surpasses her father in intelligence and abilities at this age too with techniques and confidence thanks to the close father daughter bond and training.

That's not what he said. He said he "wouldn't go easy" on them. He is fighting Boruto and Sarada in this clip and if things didn't turn out the way it did in the anime, Shikadai and his team would have faced Mitsuki eventually and he wouldn't go easy on him either.

He doesnt have the mental fortitude to use the mind destruction technique. Other yamanaka techniques would just leave his body defenseless. It's actually good that Sai trained him in his art style and kenjutsu. But he need tonput poisons or atleast paralysis causing saps on his inks.
This InoShikaCho is gonna be the most powerful of them all because this “Ino” has TWO clan abilities, this “Shika” has his clan’s ability and is mastering the element of wind, and this “Cho” is smart and better on the battlefield.
What the hell, Inoichi drew a Shoebill. This bird is slowly appearing more in anime, I love this.

Inojin will teach mind transfer jutsu for sure it's just a matter of time.
There was even one episode about that and as the time moves on Inojin will learn everything.
In my opinion it's InoShikaCho's tradition to have one ninja user of mental jutsu. That's true you need to move on but I belive Inojin paintings are just going to be bonus ability so he won't be that weak when it comes to close up fighting.

As interesting as the Mind Transfer Jutsu is in theory, what's the point of even having it if it serves the same purpose as the Shadow Possession Jutsu in a fight? Except with the Mind Transfer Jutsu, it also leaves your body completely vulnerable so it's nowhere near as useful.
Catbird the mind jut su is Garbo no point of using it it’s only okay when you talking to people far away and the yo-yo ino shika cho move but the rest for mind jutsu is trash
I just realised, this current generation of InoShikaCho might be the strongest due to two of the families adding new blood/skills to the genetics (RIP Cho being just a Cho though in that singular regard, they still rule), the Ino now has painting based water jutsu and the Shika has Wind based knowledge from Sand shinobi heritage.
ChoCho has Lightning release from her cloud village born mother, which she is about to soon display in her Chunin Exam match with Sarada in a few weeks.
Call me when Boruto Shippuden happens because this ain't it chief.

I'm was a little annoyed Team 7 was defeated this easily until I realized that Sarada wasn't even using her Sharingan. Which was why she got knocked down so easily in the air. Cheap tricks like that shouldn't work against an Uchiha. They make Boruto out to be this genius but so far he hasn't had any major single wins like Naruto had at this point in the episode count (Kiba, Neji, Gaara fights). I get that this was just a little side thing but eh.
Xxolotll sarada is a kid finding her way. It would be boring to overpower her because we have the knowledge of watching her father grow. She's not Sasuke, she's a kid still finding her way and learning.
What about boruto beating off brand kisame. He is a genius creating multiple tactics for his team.

Well come think of It, the shadow possesion at the end was unnecessary, cuz the arm wouldn't reach Shikadai/inojin's face anyway.
Plus , that was looking like a solid strategy by Shikadai, but at the end, he was mostly Lucky that Boruto decided to turn around inojin, to only then try to hit.

To be fair....this ino has a lot more offensive capabilities
Let’s just talk about how DEADLY Shikadai had the potential to be.
1.He has ties to the Kazekage, The Hokage’s right hand man, AND the greatest wind style user around.
2.he has one of the best minds out of the new generation. He’s able to predict moves, stay multiple moves ahead, and can memorize people’s attack patterns.
3.he can use Shadow paralysis and shadow strangle jutsu, plus he’s been training in shadow stitching.
4.he can use wind style, and has the ability to become just as amazing as, if not more amazing than, his mom.
5.he’s been training under both of his parents, so we all know he knows what he’s doing.
All I’m saying is that Shikadai could become a GOD
The fact that it's a 3v2 and Shikadai had ime to plan this attack, really just puts InoShikaCho below Team 7

Kind of sad cho cho never learned from her mom great kenjutsu techniques although given that cho cho is probably more suited for good heavy battles this can really be useful the moment she uses butter fly wings to be extremely deadly in close combat.

Shikadai is pretty much a Shikamaru clone, I think the creator even admitted that. And I guess Inojin is a lot like Sai. But most of them are pretty different. Boruto and Chocho are very different from Naruto and Choji. And Sarada and Metal Lee are characters that incorporate some elements of their parents while still having really original and interesting aspects to their personalities.
Metal Lee isn't anything like rock Lee.. Same fighting style but he's not determined. He has anxiety issues
Shikadai is basically Shikamaru with teal eyes. However, the Nara is supposed to be known for their intellect. Just imagine if they produced an idiot.
