What do you think is producing the image though? The lens, the lens is what is focusing the light onto the sensor, the sensor captures the image that the lens produces. The image quality of a photo is largely determined by the quality of the lens, the image quality can only be as good as your lens. Put an awful lens on a great camera and the image quality will still be awful. This lens happens to just be a decent piece of glass, so it still looks good even 108 years later.
@@user-xw1vs3vw8tyeah but a modern camera uses totally different methods of capturing the light, especially if he's using a digital camera. Even if he's using a film camera, film has drastically changed over time. If you take a photo on an original Polaroid camera from 1948 and another on a modern camera with the same lens, it's gonna look totally different because the way the image is captured is different

That bayonet is either gonna fall off or get shot off and the sling needs to be tight, not loose, especially when going into battle, which I imagine he is doing with that pose
Actually british soldiers during ww1 attached their bayonets only on the front ring so when shot it flies off towards the german trench causing extra damage.
just inherited one from my great grandfather who was an ambulance driver in ww1. it’s cool as hell and has the names of many towns he visited with it carved into the outside.
Instead of trial and error, you can actually measure the distance from lens to sensor on the original camera. (You'll still need some trial to see which combination works best though)
Did a similar thing with a voightlander 35 mm to an rca 1"plumicon video system. I was even able to use the iris mechanism to do fade in and fade out effects by twisting the iris collar
The photos would look more realistically time accurate if the subject of the photo has a dirty scuffed up face with a bit of stubble it would give the pictures a more accurate look but besides that, they look fantastic!
interesting lens to adapt! only why try and error for the macro rings? just measure the distance of lens to film (= back of film camera) and the add that from the focal plane mark of the digital camera ;)
I literally got one of these cameras just for this purpose! I cant wait to get a DSLR for this. Its so cool though! And what did you use to adapt the lens?
I've had one of these lenses (for years) that was all gummed up (no camera). I cleaned it and it works like new! I will use the lens on the "T" setting on my 35mm (M42 mount) camera because the film camera has a working shutter and meter hence, no need to use the old lens shutter. Another way to mount this lens is to use an M42 billows set up. All you need is a body cap and the billows. They are relatively cheap and can be a bit clumsy to use hand held in the field but very effective for focusing to infinity down to macro.
I pressed the other video and idk about being blown away but it was good. Sorry that you had to add comment control so you don’t get bullied, that’s really rough man. Keep up the good work :)
It's not "bullying" it's people not liking when creators needlessly separate videos just so they can artificially boost their view count without actually making any extra content
It feels like a ton of people are commenting on the bayonet, due to it being improperly attached. But an actual criticism I have is that you would not have the bayonet on as you were shooting your rifle/firerarm. Bayonets were affixed in dire settings, or close quarters, having it on while shooting would interfere with the trajectory of the bullet.
Ok… all these people talking bout the bayonet ain’t seeing the bigger picture… see how it’s angled up so the blade is in front of the muzzle? Bro is splitting bullets! 1 shot 2 kills maximum efficiency

They failed the training lesson😂
What happened to that bayonet💀
