Riverside is the most exciting thing I've heard in the last couple of years. From someone who grew up listening to Pink Floyd, Rush, Yes, UFO, etc, listening to such a good sound nowadays is really rewarding (to say the least).

When this song first came out, i thought "this shit is an instant classic" and four years later i'm still behind my words. One of my favorite songs from one of the best albums ever written.
Nice, but... needs more of that old emotion, mood, darkness and eeriness. Where has it gone? I miss those wailing guitars. Based on this song and the previous album, I'm hearing too much Porcupine Tree blandness, not enough Riverside heart and edginess. I think the band needs to dig deeper, get back into that zone. It's like their personal lives are in a better place right now, and the musical "feels" are disappearing with that transition. I hope we haven't forever lost that unique Riverside sound - you won't feel that sound anywhere else.

My top 5 songs are tough to choose, so many good ones... but getting critical: - "Loose Heart" - "Acronym Love" - "Dna Ts. Rednum Or F. Raf" - "Parasomnia" - "Curtain Falls" The best thing about Riverside is that you pick up the beautiful intricacies of every song the more you listen to them. Personally, I didn't get that kind of depth from the last album, Shrine of New Generation Slaves, and this latest single sounds similar to that style - brilliant but COMPARATIVELY emotionless. Really though, everything Riverside does is brilliant, so you can't go wrong. I highly recommend you get every album into your collection, stat!
It's a song about avoidant personality disorder. My friend has it combined with anxiety and it destroys his life. It's literally everything I want him to hear every time I see him struggling.

You're a good friend man, he will definitely appreciate it, even if he may not say it verbally. I can't help but notice, but it seems so many of us complain when a band alters its' sound. But, we are also so chaste to complain when bands never change their sound. The fact is Riverside is still Riverside, and the songs are still primarily written by Duda, who also writes Lunatic and is heavily influenced by Steven Wilson. Personally, I welcome every little change we get with Riverside. These guys are talented, and offer the music world value and depth, which many bands lack. Would you all prefer they keep writing the same 3 albums over and over? I doubt it. Let them grow and evolve. If you don't like where they are heading, then don't listen. I like this new song, and I'm glad to see them changing a bit. Keeps me excited to see what happens next.
