Awesome video. I just got two XB units with the solar panels. I have a cabin up north in lower Michigan. I bought them more for security cameras and want to place up high 10' or so, on my cabin walls and point them down. Will this work.
So I just purchased an XB myself. Ive had it in the field for about 5 days. I don't purchase the plan until just before hunting season. I have a Reveal X in a tree about 8 feet off the ground. I have it pointed over a game trail. I get pretty good pictures from it. It should work just fine. Do a few test photos with it to get it pointed just right. But yes it should work just fine. You will love the solar panels!
Solid camera it seems. If I wasn't having to constantly top bait anyways I would def get one. My main deciding factor for a trail camera is it has to have a view screen.
The screen would be beneficial for some things and possibly a hinderence for others? I used to run the OLD cuddebaks, I like the concept of being able to aim the camera to ensure good photos.
Good review. I especially like the portion where you go through the set up features. I just got one today and I’m looking forward to getting it up and running.
The first generation of the Reveal was very impressive. I left it out all winter and it was still taking pics come spring. Only time will tell for the Reveal X.
Great review I bought 2 reveal x 's and set up one but ran into issues. I have 3 bars of 4 g on my Samsung and the camera has one red bar? No matter where i go its the same. Also, when i try to enter the Reveal2021 password in my phone's wifi it says its incorrect? Not sure what to do other than send them back.
You may have an issue with that particular one. Of the 5 we are running we haven't had any issues yet. Are your phones service provider and the particular Camera provider the same?
@@After5Outdoors both devices are Verizon. I haven't tried the second camera to see if i have the same issue. Can i remove the furst one then add the second one to try it?
Thanks for the honest review. I know the recovery time is a big complaint like you mentioned, 30 seconds - several minutes to get another picture. So what would you recommend to maximize pictures, 1 shot or multi shot?
Isn't it something the progression in technology throughout the years? I remember a few years ago monster size trail cams that used 20 batteries, usually D cell and lasted 2days.
Good luck, the app is junk, the manual sucks really bad. the cam powers off after about 45 seconds while trying to figure out the manual, and then while trying to figure out the app. no Login option in the app at all. basically I have 3-5 seperate problems just trying to get this working as the most basic level. i give up
Well I’m excited about my xb I just got. The only problem I have is trying to set up. Got everything set and trying to get to a live feed for setup just isn’t working 😞. I’ve tried everything but it keeps saying disconnected but is still connected 🤷🏻♂️
I'm about to order the XB, I picked up the SK a couple weeks ago and have just been too darn busy to set it up! Chris is a electronic wizard and gets them going flawlessly, me on the other hand, it takes a little longer. I'll be setting up the SK tomorrow! Appreciate the input! Let us know what you think of the XB!
@@After5Outdoors I’m on hr 3 of trying to get live feed for camera positions. Not working with full coverage in the house and connected to the reveal WiFi. Much longer and it’s headed back to scheels 🤣🤣🤣
I've read hundreds of 'comments of this product....mostly from folks who do NOT own one. they say All good, Awesome ets. Guess what it doesnt work. I live in Minnesota, and just bought this Minnesota made product. the manual is worthless, the app is worthless. there is Login option on the 'App'. The manual does not in any way make sense while your trying to use the app. $200 into the garbage can ( i also bought the solar charger, i suppose ill NOT throw that in the garbage, its easy to work with anything)
garbage product. I live in Minnesota, and KI bought this since its Minnesota made. The phone app is useless, the manual is useless. I have wasted about 6 hours trying to make this work, and it DOES not work
I've been having some issues with the SK, but the X has been pretty good. I'm not happy with the manual, and the app has been updated. I had some problems with it initially. Customer service is bad though.
Nice work, Cody and Chris. I just pulled my two cameras and got some great elk pictures. Have a good week.
Trail cams can really help with scouting!

Good review on the camera! I've always wanted to get a cell camera! Thanks for sharing!
So far we highly recommend this one.
@@After5Outdoors awesome
I personally would like to see how it works in the winter

Is there any cost difference on your phone bill with using or adding this camera to your cell service?
The phone bill no, it requires a plan in addition but isn't overly costly
@@After5Outdoors thanks Cody. It's amazing all the capabilities of cell phones. Scary a little.
A little yes
Great review y’all! I like that one a lot better than mine and it’s not much more money! I appreciate ya showin it to us! 😊👍👍👏
They are a good value, we haven't had really any issues yet with them. Once the cold sets in we'll see how they do
Great review. Good looking camera and some Ispy gear
Thank You guys!

You should be able to have numerous cameras on the same account. According to the Tactacam website, a red status light means location isn't turned on.

Quality of pictures??
My first trail camera took 35mm film... I got very good at aiming it after developing some lousy photos. 😂

great camera review
Appreciate it sir!
What is your preferred method of pics? Multishot or singles
Single followed by a video, the video is pretty good quality
Great review you covered everything I was wondering about I have been looking at these the last couple weeks!
I'm glad that it helped you out. That is the biggest reason for us doing these videos.
Well what did you guys think of the camera over the season? Thinking about picking a couple up.
We like them, the app could be a little more simple at times. Overall they are pretty good
That seems like a great camera. We always have trouble getting service. Great review.
We were in the boon docks where our phones didn't work but our cameras did
@@After5Outdoors that would be so nice.
It is!
I need to look into one of these for sure
Great camera for the money
Great review. Just picked up two of the SKs for $179 at Scheels. But with everything included in that $300 wouldn't be overpriced
I'm hoping to get my SK put together this weekend, appreciate you checking out the video!

Very helpful…Love this camera…
The only one to stay away from is the XB. Appreciate you checking out the video!
Great Review Brother
👍
The reveal sk is priced at 180 at bass pro
I paid 129 online at gander outdoors for the reveal X, the sk is the new model I believe

@@After5Outdoors does yours send pics via email/txt or just to the app?
The X will send email and texts but through the app. I just have mine set to text
Use your phone camera to position your hunting camera so you don't have to take multiple pics.
Yup
sweet
It's been a great camera so far
