when it's been said that resistance training triggers muscle protein synthesis.... does that mean that it initiates the response (and we still need complete AAs to stay anabolic)...
On the other hand when we say we damage muscle fibers then how is it anabolic..!

Lookup supercompensation. Maybe that will help.

How does this all have an effect on insulin/insulin resistance? Also, how does correlate with the link between higher protein consumption and cancer?

look up interviews with Dr. Don Layman - quite a few here on YT. He covers all of your questions and more. Particularly, you may want to start with his interviews with Dr. Attia and Dr. Shawn Baker, then look up others.

The "link" between associating protein and cancer is a statistical stunt for idiots.

Very good... Such a good information! Thank you.... By the way, there is no way any aerobic excersize can even remotely achieve what cicuit training does!..

Anyone studying exogenous ketones for muscle sparing? Also, I don't think Stuart said is explicitly... there's no reason to think HMB would have an additive or synergistic effect with leucine? It doesn't look like the study asked the question.

To answer your question those in ketosis are not sparing muscle. They are burning it. When carbs aren't around the body takes muscle and fat to turn in to carbs needed by the body and various organs. This has been shown in several studies where they locked people into wards and controlled every gram of food they ate.

@@cutabove9046 RUclips channel 'Live Savage' for a natural bodybuilder who used Keto to retain more muscle than his high carb competitors and win a contest (actually, both he and his wife dominated their natural BB contests). When you're fat adapted and ketogenic, you'll spare more muscle than a regular high carber when both reduce calories to get lean.

@@Appleblade I wish this was true, but it isn't. Science backed with several in-lab controlled testing by various universities shows this simply isn't true and they give you the science behind why. An anecdotal story about some body builder who did this or that are as meaningless as the story about people who live to be one hundred while smoking just about every day of their lives. But if you want to believe it go right ahead.

Apparently fasting in conjunction with a low carb diet preserves muscle tissue and actually results heightened HGH

@@cutabove9046 Were the studies using people adapted to ketosis or were they using people unadapted to ketosis? Also were these individuals increasing their dietary protein to compensate for the increased protein demands for energy? Also were the people that were studied undertaking suitable exercise to maintain their muscles or were they deprived of exercise?
In other words were the studies properly done?

I was so missinformed. I heard that our body synthesized proteins when we sleep.

Those inflection point linear regressions seem hopelessly underpowered and overinterpreted. Basically this data is terrible.
