If you notice, I gave her cues throughout... Due to programming and scheduling, we practiced WITH her a very specific pattern and ending, UNLIKE the Karen Clark version. Furthermore...what you're referring to is not the ending...you're referring to the reprise...which we previously said we wouldn't do, because of timing. Once you add in nerves and excitement...it was small, and she still did a great job. At the end of the day, the musicians and singers did what we practiced WITH Ms. Price. :-)

Lol they were trying to modulate her from the third modulation haha she said "take me back to the original key" haha. But after she said that, the music was like whatever, the musicians clearly weren't feeling it. She killed it though. The background singers were REALLY GOOD this year, only two tenors and they sounded like a full blown choir! And i guess nobody is gonna give Kelly any grief for that split up the dress lol
After the third modulation, the performance was complete. After that they were supposed to be in the vamp which means they should have automatically reverted to the key in which the performance began.If you notice they did a break at 3:53 which means it was supposed to be vamp mode. That's kinda 101 for gospel music.lol. So Kelly was right, but they honestly still killed. Her voice is not to be played with. It also appears that Kelly's ear and stage monitors were turned off because she started pointing to her ear @ 4:09.
Hello! Thanks for your insight. However, we practiced it a specific way, and that's what we stayed true to...not to the recording. That's why I was sure to bridge the ORIGINAL Clark Sisters version and Karen Clark's version. Gospel 101 is knowing what you're talking about first before commenting. All love though. We love Ms. Kelly Price, and she did an amazing job.
