I've owned my 2500C 45.5mm since 2005, worn on 18.5cm/7.3in wrist, close to my limit. It was my daily for 7 years. Amazing watch, prefer it to the PO8500 and 8900. Did an overhaul after 11 yrs (cost me 410 euros). Super accurate (less than +2s/d deviation). Love the matte dial and bezel.
Thanks for sharing that - I think this watch clearly has some very strong points, and I also do love that matte black dial which contrasts super well with the hands and markers. Still one of the best tool divers I have seen!
I have this exact watch with a little bit more modern bracelet. But may I say, that was the most accurate and comprehensive review of any watch I have seen to date. Thank you
I have this watch with same measurements and I must say it wears great on my 8 inch wrist size. The lume is fabulous and keeps impeccable time! Great presentation, thank you for sharing.
Its a great piece, right size in my opinion, understated quality look that does on occasion bring compliments. Ive owned for around 8 years and have serviced once. Very durable as im quite hard on it. Works for dress and casual and really no complaints... Its really all you need.
Have had this watch for a year now! Works for dress! Absolutely phenomenal, great substance and spotless finish! Lives up to the house of omega standard! The 42mm is probably the best size for this watch in order for it to give you great legibility! Amazing review!
I've got this same watch, had it since 4/2007. It's been awesome and very versatile. I just sent it to Omega for it's first servicing. So that's 11 years without issue. It's a big watch, no doubt, but the newer versions are thicker and feel even larger. I can carry it, but most people get the 42mm version for obvious reasons.
Thanks for sharing that, glad to hear about the reliability! You must have big wrists indeed, can I ask what size? And true too that many people would opt for one of the smaller versions, I believe there was a 43mm at some stage also?
Great video, I have had the exact model since 2009 and it's never missed a beat and it's never had a service. It's been all over the world with me. I have used for diving also and it fitted nice over my wet suit. This watch feels beautiful on the wrist. I have a 20cm wrist and the balance for me is perfect. This is my daily wearer and I even use it for gardening and DIY . The retail price back in 2009 was £1950 and I got it at a steal at £1650 back then. The luminosity is great and it has a 48 power reserve. If you looking to buy one they going for about £2450- 2950 pending condition.
Thanks for sharing that - I think with a 20cm wrist this would fit you very nicely! It remains one of the best pure functional divers I have ever had the pleasure to review.
Yusaku Fudo it has no patina. After going in the sea you just have to make sure it's washed with fresh water. It looks like the day I brought it apart from all the scratches everywhere.
It’s great that the original still had the big advantage over later versions of being much thinner. It’s just weird of Omega never manages to get the lume right on the hands. The Aqua Terra’s minute hand is barely legible as well. This masculine and tough watch is worth being in any collection.
Thanks for that - which "original" model are you referring to? I think the lume on this minute hand was oddly executed but personally I don't have any issue with the lume on the hands of my Seamaster 300M models, nor that of the Moonwatch. Nice collection you have, and interesting videos too - all the best with the channel! :)
I bought the 42mm PO with black bezel and white numbers in 2008 and really like it. It was a perfect addition to the blue SMP I already had at that time. The only reason I later gave it away was my desire for the orange PO Chronograph. My father got it from me and he really enjoys it. So do I when we meet and I see the watch on his wrist. I still have the PO Chrono which has the same diameter as the watch in the video but it is considerably higher and heavier. On my wrist it is on the limit but I really love that beast. The current watches in the Planet Ocean lineup look fantastic and have more advanced movements but you can't go wrong with a first generation Planet Ocean, especially if you prefer a more toolish look.
The minutes hand is made intentionally with that separation between the “shaft” and “arrow head” so that when all the hands overlap in the dark the “arrow heads” of all hands hours, minutes and seconds are still visible and the seconds hand falls right in that dark space on the minutes hand and the hours hand is right behind it. I find the design of the hands genius. I do agree that it is difficult to read the watch in the dark when its not on your hand but how often do you do that? Also a ceramic bezel would have been nice like on the new model but I think the metal case back with the hypocampus is better on this generation because it allows the watch to remain a little bit thinner with the same water rating. But the movement on the newer generation is a great improvement. Overall the ideal watch for me would have the case of this generation (except the bezel) with the 8500 movement, with the bracelet of this generation and the clasp of the newer one (micro adjustments).
Thanks for your comment. I never try to read the watch in my hand, or anywhere else other than when on my wrist. My comment was in relation to that context.

Excellent as always Ivan, your neuro surgeon cyber friend from Manhattan, New York City , yes the invitation is always open, best to you, and all, Oliver!
Cheers Ivan. Good, thorough review. I like the P.O and do think the new models size is spot on and also the touch of orange on the newer models is great. Thst said this is still a lovely watch.
Thanks Samuel - I think there were 43.5mm available at the same time as this model also. The current models are interesting although the use of rubber on the bezel gives me some doubts...!
Perth WAtch yep i understand what ur saying. There's also a rubber bezel insert on the new Breitling Super Ocean and i had the same thought although it looks very hard wearing so prob wouldn't worry too much.

I’ve been trying to buy one for ages, without success. Admittedly , I haven’t searched too hard, but I’d buy one right now if I could find one. Thanks for sharing.
Hello, great video! Can you clarify when you say that in Casino Royale it was the same case but on a different strap, so it was a different reference number? Was the case actually the same and the only difference was the strap or was the 2900.50.91 that everyone said he uses in the movie actually a 45.5mm watch? It’s really hard to tell because in the picture you show it doesn’t look that big, but even Omega says that it’s the bigger one & not the 42mm….? I’m trying to purchase one of these and would like to buy the proper one, thanks!
Yes it’s exactly the same case, 45.5mm size. The watch model used in the movie is 2900.50.91 as you stated. If you’re referring to the picture I showed at 5:18 … well not sure what to say, Daniel Craig probably has quite big wrists haha!
@@PerthWAtch I apologize, I made my comment before I watched the rest of Your video when you stated it was 45.5 mm. I had never seen a 2200.50.00 only the 2201.50.00 but I’m guessing that subtle change is just the band. It’s interesting how the actual one in the movie is so different of a reference #. I don’t know if I want the 45.5 or the 42 as I have a 7.25” wrist, dont like watches that are too big, & found a 42mm 2201.50.00 w a rubber strap.
I don’t think there’s a good reason to go for the 45.5mm one unless you have very large wrists (which we both don’t). Not sure what you mean by subtle change - that 3.5mm difference in case size doesn’t end up being very subtle at all IMO
The difference between the models is the case size, not the “band”… the bracelet style is the same. Going back to your original comment, the 45.5mm model is the “proper” one and the 42mm would not be “proper”…
I've got this watch, and although i have small wrists it wears really well. I've also got the new seamaster driver 300 but hate the bracelet so still find myself going back to my old planet ocean
Thank you for that - that's correct, and that watch is also no longer in production. Current standard size of the Planet Ocean range is 43.5mm. Cheers, Ivan.
I wish they had this version with the new movement. The new Planet Oceans are way too glossy, imho. They are too shiny. I love the vintage look of the earlier Seamasters, with the vintage numerals and pre-ceramic bezel.
So, this is what people buy when they can't afford 60 Seikos. Well, I reckon it's probably ok to wear as a beater around the marina. Seriously though. it's an awesome looking watch. Had a look around at the prices, and I think I'd probably be able to afford the 300m Seamaster by the time your kid goes to university (or the techie - nothing wrong with that). Cheers.
Haha yes that is correct! Omega is an awesome brand and is not stratospheric in terms of prices, but at this level its not for everyone. I could potentially be perfectly happy with various Seiko models, and even second "level" Swiss like Longines or Oris. Oh I forgot to comment on what you said about *The Ashes* - I think it's always a cyclical thing with this competition... we are on form this time, next time around it may well go back to England. I say "Ashes come and Ashes go, but cricket lives forever" :)
This is definitely the best looking Planet Ocean imo. It wears so much thinner than the later ones, like the Seamaster 300m from.arpund the same time. The modern Seamasters, especially the PO, wear way too thick imo.
I very clearly remember, 20 or so years ago, when a 40mm submariner was considered a big watch. Beautiful, but way to big. Love the channel, great job as always.
The real and only issue I have with Omega that will always have it trailing Rolex is that they are constantly changing their watches. The Speedmaster original is the only exception I know of. If you really like an Omega but have to wait till you can afford it, it won't be available new anymore. It will have gone through multiple changes. If you need to wait till you can afford the Rolex you always wanted, it will still essentially be the same iconic watch. How many versions of Seamaster are there? How many versions of the Submariner are there? I think this is one of the best Seamaster diver designs Omega created yet they stopped manufacturing it. This marketing concept is similar to that of Seiko or Citizen watches.
Is it that frequent? Rolex upgraded the Sub to ceramic bezel in 2011 (or thereabouts) and they increased the size last year (or was it 2020?). Omega's last Seamaster 300M blue dial 2012 model was in production for about 8 years... not that much different it would seem.
@@PerthWAtch That is true. What I really meant is their changes are quite radical over time. (The exception is the Speedmaster Professional original because there are a large number of different variations of Speedmaster's.) Rolex does make changes, infrequently, but when they do, it is subtle and does not change the general look of the model. That is why a Rolex always looks like a Rolex from a distant glance. I've encountered Omega's being worn that I could not clearly recognize. I knew it was likely a fine Swiss watch but had to scrutinize it closely to discover it was an Omega. Some would argue that this is an appeal of Omega because Rolex also suffers the fate of being the most copied watch designs of all. I've seen &39.00 watches in Walmart that clearly copied Rolex. Not so much with Omega. I actually own this watch and the Speedmaster. Couldn't afford a Rolex!
Ah yes very true - the very success and recognisable design of Rolex plays a role in the Submariner being the most copied watch in the world, including the $20 automatic Tevise T801A! Omega does get copied of course but no where near as frequently.
You are 100% correct. I have the original PO and look in the Omega shop whenever I jump on a plane and go…naaaah…the old one is better. In fact back when I bought this you could buy a submariner easily. I put them side by side and the Omega was a nicer looking watch for me. In hindsight I should have bought the submariner as it doubled in price unlike my trusty PO. But I still do admire it when I wear it.
Haha thanks for that Oscar! Well I think 45mm steel would be too big for most wrists... 40mm on the other hand would suit almost all guys. In between it depends...
Thank you very much for the feedback Xavier... I can do 1080p straightaway but have avoided it so far due to space hungry nature (it's about 100% over 720p) and am not sure of benefit/demand. A new camera is on the Wishlist ;)
I think the camera is ok. I don't notice any issues.. I'm not a camera buff though but i think its ok 👍 Although i guess a Seiko tells the time ok.. So why would one need an Omega haha ;)
Well spotted mate! I screened through the movie again trying to find a screenshot but those scenes were mostly blurry action and no chance of identifying the watch purely on screen I'd say!
Nothing screams luxury more than an instruction book in a billion languages ... It's not hard to know what your customers need, and it shows they care about the customer and just provide that. Nice watch and box though. Broad arrow hands are my favourite type .
Haha yeah it’s certainly a way to cut on cost, but a minor one… many people seem to appreciate the multi-calibre facet which shows all current movements
@@PerthWAtch I don't mind the multi calibre and the history parts they are very interesting it's all the languages that are of no use to anyone you only need one .
Casino Royale reference 2900.50.91, *45.5mm* watch Quantum of Solace reference 2201.50.00, *42mm* watch Thank you for affirming my statement that it's a *different model* ;)
Love watching your vids, could you do vid on fashion watches like MVMT and diesel and more. I know you already a vid on diesel but would be good to see you view
Perth WAtch to be honest they’re nice and very well made. In all fairness omegas quality control in my opinion is second to non. However to me even though I own the old non bond seamaster of the 90s, they seem quite heavy. They need a slimmer profile and just remove some clutter off the dial. I’d think I’d wear it over the rolex any day of the week.
Great review and a lovely watch. But please come the day that sizes drop. Alas the oligarchs, the cocaine-runner and the eastern factory-owner seem to dictate the market. My 32mm 1940s watches seem perfectly masculine to me.
Who knows? The supply/demand interface is always blurred. Apparently my supermarket thinks I want Chinese apple rather than British, but who am I to quibble. Interestingly, I did hear that sales of high-end Swiss watches has slumped since the Chinese communist party cracked down on corruption. Also, who buys those 50mm Invictas? :-)
Not surprising that those sales might have slumped after a crack down... China is a massive market these days! Invicta is a bit special... they seem to be able to run these weird market experiments with their models that no one seems to buy! Haha maybe all your neighbourhood wants Chinese apple and you're left on the minority? :)
Ah, that old question as to whether the consumer or the producer dictates the product. You may well be right, but the manufacturers never tell us. Perhaps it's as simple as novelty sells.
40s…some lovely time pieces but movements have come a long way. The Japanese Seiko’s are some lovely movements and many in the know say superior to the premium brands
I didn’t say it’s matter of taste. Do you know that some people in this world are left handed? ;) PS. The crown is on the *right* ... it’s not a matter of opinion

Rolex does make changes, infrequently, but when they do, it is subtle and does not change the general look of the model.
Better than a 5 digit sub imho and becoming collectors piece. Values are going up . Totally get it
How interesting, never knew that!
Definitely a beautiful watch, but if in your wrist is forcing the limits of good taste in mine it would look authentically ridiculous :-D
Haha thanks for that Oscar! Well I think 45mm steel would be too big for most wrists... 40mm on the other hand would suit almost all guys. In between it depends...
Is this the watch that Jeremy Clarkson wears? I know he has a planet ocean but it’s so difficult to find the exact identical variant. Thank you
Dunno man, I would use Google to find out the answer
Jeremy wears a watch like this on rubber.
The 42mm wears more likw a 41.5mm and is great for a 7 inch wrist
Interesting! I’m not sure I can tell 0.5mm difference myself…
Hey how is like so far in Perth ?
Weather people and so on ?
Perth rocks, Perth awesome!
Get the 42mm. Its a perfect watch
My Seamaster 41mm is the perfect watch
Nice channel! Please upgrade your camera for better resolution and focussing. Keep up the good work!!
I'm not a camera buff though but i think its ok 👍
Although i guess a Seiko tells the time ok.. So why would one need an Omega haha ;)
Hmm... sounds like me not being a camera buff explains a lot of my issues :)
Nice video.
Yes it is 😆
What a beauty!
Yeah baby!
Hi what do you think of the 42mm one of this same watch?
I would definitely prefer that over this big size version, which is too larger for most people I know.
Perth WAtch I think the 42 is average size for most people
Great review!!! This PO is not for my princess wrist 😞
It’s also too large for me...
@@PerthWAtch Hoping Omega next PO releases get slimmer and 39.5 mm 😂
It’s definitely available in smaller size
I'd pay a couple grand just for the box alone..lol..Congrats on a great piece!!
Haha thanks for that Nick! I have to shout out my mate Graeme again for his generosity in providing this piece :)
I hate that old red box. It would rip easily
Yep, especially when it’s aged
Mine fell apart and made a hell of a mess
That’s what it does!
I love this watch.
Why?
@@PerthWAtch I own one and love the way it reflects light. It 's just an amazing looking watch.I also think it's a great size for a mens watch.
Nice - thanks for sharing :)
Best Omega diver
Is it??
I remember seeing this in the movie and thinking "he's got an over-big watch on!"
Well spotted mate! I screened through the movie again trying to find a screenshot but those scenes were mostly blurry action and no chance of identifying the watch purely on screen I'd say!
Looks Absurdly big on you
I agree! :)
Cool watch
Thanks for that, glad you liked it :)
Yeah fair enough
Best everyday watch
It’s too big
@@PerthWAtchnot for me I wear it everyday and it sits well on my wrist.
Best for you then. Maybe. But not for others
I paid 2600,00 if I recall 2007???
Yeah that's probably about right, prices seem so much better then!
Featured in Quantum of Solace too...
He did wear a Planet Ocean in Quantum of Mediocrity but it was a different model ;)
@@PerthWAtch With a steel bracelet ref: 2201.50.00
Casino Royale reference 2900.50.91, *45.5mm* watch
Quantum of Solace reference 2201.50.00, *42mm* watch
Thank you for affirming my statement that it's a *different model* ;)
What could you possibly do with the cereal numbers?? Give me a break!!
Exactly a question I have, please tell me!
PS. You have my permission to take a break if you wish ;)
Love it hard to get nice ones in UK 🇬🇧
Hard to get your Omega if choice in the UK? That’s ironic!
@@PerthWAtch in good condition and in a 42mm*
42mm size is the best!
42mm size is not the best
Agree to disagree lol
Not really - I 100% agree that your opinion is 42mm is best lol ;)
Love watching your vids, could you do vid on fashion watches like MVMT and diesel and more. I know you already a vid on diesel but would be good to see you view
Thanks for that - will keep your request in mind... turns out one of my collaborations may have pieces that will support such a video!
UPDATE yes i did get a refund via balcatta from Omega
Awesome!!
What was the original problem again?
i have 1 omega seamaster professional 007
Great to hear dude! :)
@@PerthWAtch tank you for the reply sir,i sale my watch sir f your interested just call #09676511856
I have one too…and?
Why o why the Helium escape valve?! If not for that it would be the absolute perfect sport's watch.
The valve makes it even more perfect ;)
What’s the model number of the quartz version of the same case???
What quartz version??
color black
Yes it is! :)
This watch would be perfect. Add a ceramic bezel, remove 3,6,9,add an applied logo and micro adjust in the bracelet.
Utter perfection
At 45mm? What do you think about the current PO models?
Perth WAtch to be honest they’re nice and very well made. In all fairness omegas quality control in my opinion is second to non. However to me even though I own the old non bond seamaster of the 90s, they seem quite heavy. They need a slimmer profile and just remove some clutter off the dial. I’d think I’d wear it over the rolex any day of the week.
Thanks for sharing that - I appreciate hearing those thoughts :)
Great review and a lovely watch. But please come the day that sizes drop. Alas the oligarchs, the cocaine-runner and the eastern factory-owner seem to dictate the market. My 32mm 1940s watches seem perfectly masculine to me.
Thanks for that. I thought it was more the mass market and fashion designers that dictate the size demands...??
The Japanese Seiko’s are some lovely movements and many in the know say superior to the premium brands
this is QUANTOM OF SOLACE watch..i have limitied editien 50007 pice
This is CASINO ROYALE watch (like I said). The one in Quantum of Solace is different model.
Its too big, the Watch go to the left
What go to the left?
Perth WAtch the watch goes to the left
For most people yes, but for many it goes to the right ;)
Perth WAtch the crown is on the left therefore the watch goes to the left is not a matter of taste
I didn’t say it’s matter of taste. Do you know that some people in this world are left handed? ;)
PS. The crown is on the *right* ... it’s not a matter of opinion
Better than a 5 digit sub imho and becoming collectors piece. Values are going up . Totally get it
That’s amazing!!
This is a perfect watch !!!
It's a great watch for sure, although a little too large for most people...
@@PerthWAtch
For my wrist is an ideal size of 42 mm
Yeah for me 40-42mm is ideal.
