She is like a glowing light for China and the Chinese people. All Chinese people around the world have suffered from the smear campaigns, the attacks in public, the constant negativity in the media. But Aileen Gu is an inspiration and despite all the western negative press coverage, she has won 2 gold medals and a silver. As a Chinese person, I am overwhelmed with joy and so proud for Aileen.

Never have crossed my mind that I would enjoy basketball until Jeremy Lin. It’s so challenging for Chinese to be in NBA, because of its competitiveness. Jeremy Lin conquered NBA, he captivated people like me, a Chinese American. Never have I thought I would enjoy skiing, until Aileen Gu. You are like a fresh air!

A normal person would have fear of the sport once they had mutiple injuries.
she seemed to have conquered fear. It is still there but it drives her forward.. I wish I have that kind of mentality as well.
Unlike other big name movie stars, willing to sleep with dirty film directors in order to become famous, her achievement is done by her own talent, intense training, and sincere contributions from coaches. She deserves whatever coming to her.

I wonder how is it possible that she was so vocal about BLM and the Anti-Asian movement here in America, but as quiet as a mouse about severe human-rights issues in China? Hypocrite? or selling yourself out because you're getting paid millions to keep your mouth shut. Or maybe both? And great job in not representing the country that you grew up in, used our training facilities, had your family enjoy democracy to go and represent a communist nation who is one of our greatest military threats to our country and against the very things we stand for as a nation. Hmmm, does the word "Traitor" seem to fit? yeah, we think so. Here's a thought, why don't you just stay in China? you know how big this must be for her too.. for such a minor sport to receive a huge following in china.. gotta remember, this is not football and she's not messi or cr7, but then again, china is another planet.. just look at how they market and invest just because of one person.. i feel sorry for the next asian generation who'll get "inspired" asian parents.. emotional damage on them kids will be massive..
40 yrs ago China was dirt poor, but they got "inspired" by the advancements and successes of many other countries. And look at where China now... China is above those countries. So don't worry about China, they definitely has very strong will to move forward. Btw we can say the opposite thing for western countries... as we can see everyday is just downhill for them. I feel sorry for their current generation.... emotional damage facing the reality.
