I purchased this bodhran while on holiday at Crustys in Ennis, March of 2015. I still play it to this day. Great for beginners.

Hi, may I trouble you please to tell me what the proper tension of the skin on an 18" Bodhran should be?
Yes, I'm new to the instrument and found a used tunable drum for sale and live in a place where I seem to own the only Bodhran!
    Thank you!

Hi Patrick, it should be stretched tight across the rim but not overly so as you don't want it to rip. You'll get some more information about bodhrán skin on one of our blog posts: blog.mcneelamusic.com/care-for-your-bodhran-drum-head/
