One thing you didn't mention is that the balm and sap buffs require components that are found using forage. Ranger has been a lot of fun, been playing one as my main.
Another good tip as a Ranger, save up 16silver and buy a 9dmg 3.2dly bow and 2dmg arrows from a weapons master, they are usable at lvl 2! (best bow/arrows until level 10)
I've added more in. Its hard to capture them all without leveling all of these toons to max level. The new cleric video you will see more spell effects as they are described.
@@arthaxunleashed Yeah, after I left that comment I realized how much time it would take to actually get high enough level to show them. Kind of a derp moment for me =)
@marshallcierovola376 Haha. I had the same thought originally. Oh I'll just show all the spell effects but then I was like oh yea. That would take a LONG time to max every class haha.
I pledged and joined yesterday, and made a Ranger. I'm so lost! I did manage to figure out the powerful like-and-subscribe skill though. It took me a half hour just to find hornets for that first quest, and it's frustrating that I have to be in combat for a while before I can use either of my two abilities, which means I don't get to use the ranged one at all because I'm stuck in melee combat. And by the time I've sat and healed up enough to attack something else, all my resources are gone so I have to start in melee again! 😠 Please help me understand what I'm missing about Ranger or getting started, because so far I not only think I must have picked the wrong class for me, but I regret spending all this money. This was the first game I've ever encountered where account creation and downloading the game is a frustrating process, and while I'm not new to sandbox games, I didn't see anything that would have helped guide me in the slightest, in the beginning. 😢
This definitely has a learning curve if you've not played something like this before. Ranger has a few spells that wont work depending on your range. i.e. Swift shot you cannot use if the mob is close. So you have to weave ranged and melee damage. You get engage and withdraw later on. But Solo you might have to do an entire swap of skill to mainly Melee. I would recommend checking out the new player video a released saturday if you get a min.
@@arthaxunleashed I was already planning to do that, once I finish baking and making dinner! Thank you for the reply. is there a class that you might recommend that I start with instead of Ranger, that wouldn't rely on being in melee? I love group stuff, but I'll also need to be able to solo with it. 🧡
@@arthaxunleashed Thank you for asking! I'm pretty good at providing my own fantasy, so I'll list some more mechanical things: I adore getting extra cosmetic options, like other forms and tamed pets (but if a teenage boy would think it's "cool", like those skeleton pets, I won't like it). I like ranged characters, I like healing and draining, I like fears and knockbacks and snares, I like charges and pulls, I like runbuffs and teleports, I like being able to swap roles. I hate managing short duration buffs, cone effects, needing a bag full of reagents to make my abilities work, and having to chain multiple abilities just so I can use the one thing I needed in the first place. And this Ranger system of needing to be in combat for a while just so I can use the ability I wanted to use before I got in to combat! And I love crafting! So crafting, appearance and cosmetic options, ranged damage and ranged healing, control, versatility and mobility would be my biggest wish list items. I doubt anything will tick all those boxes, but hopefully there's a class or two that gets some of it. 💛🧡
@@HollyDawna I'm thinking shaman... They get a wolf pet, they are range, they heal, they debuff. I think that's as close as you get with the things you mention.
So, when you're making the videos you're in complete control of what you record and upload. Why then would you ever include footage of night time gameplay, without any torch or lightning, to showcase anything? All we can see the UI in those portions.
I was trying to indirectly illustrate the challenge of darkness without calling direct attention to it. Probably best served in its own video though. I appreciate the feedback. Its a function of the game I both enjoy and hate! :D
@@arthaxunleashed Thanks for the answer. In my experience, if the game is not a horror, then even the nights in it should be made bright. In this case, the interesting gameplay is more important than realism.
1:02 you got me with this one. i was like huh wha?!?
also be better if this was daylight footage. love dark Pantheon nights but ya know
😂 Yea, I was trying to illustrate the challenge of darkness but realized after the fact it's best displayed elsewhere.

Yea, I didnt want to get too deep and keep it to 5 mins or so. I plan on doing an in depth overviews once classes are a little more baked.
I got my Aged Wood shortbow (13 dmg / 2.8 dly + 1 dex) and my 4 DMG arrow !!!
@@arthaxunleashed Where do I get one? 😆
There is a rare spawn bowman in the newbie yard we killed with my necro RIGHT AFTER i ended stream the other night lol!!
It was a cool fight!
Are they gonna be updating a lot of the abilities by december?
All classes with abilities to 40 by EA launch!
Should have filmed this in daylight .. too dark
Thank you for the feedback!!
Glad to see these videos. I'd be cool if you used the abilities to show them while reading the descriptions.

@HollyDawna what is your class fantasy? What are your favorite themes in these types of games?

Everyone hates the darkness its part of the game!!
Ok but skinni g shouldnt take 10 seconds Jesus
It's hard before you get your upgraded knife!!
Why do you make video during a night? No offence, but if the viewer does not see what is happening, then this is a bad video.
This was meant to illustrate the challenge of darkness. In retrospect it was the wrong venue! Live and learn!
