This compilation features United States Army Locomotive No. 2253, aka "Omaha".
No. 2253 is an S-160 class 2-8-0 "Consolidation" type steam locomotive built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works of Philadelphia, USA in December 1943, originally for the U.S. Army Transportation Corps (USATC).
Filmed by Craig Greenslade, around Bridgnorth, Arley, and Eardington, on Friday 15th September 2023.

Please..! please..! put a decent 5 chime whistle on an American locomotive. Keep those dulcet toned ones on English locomotives.
I quite like it. It's a nice blend of America and Britain. Plus, it's carrying a fabulous rendition of LMS Crimson Lake. Also, seeing as taking Omaha beach was a team effort, I see absolutely no problem with sharing parts.
It is such a pity that there is no live steam model of these wonderful S160 locomotives in gauge 1 from Accucraft.
